Hi all, I am probably the noobiest (is that a word?) collector on here with a mere 9 games to my collection. Only started collecting them in the last 3 weeks, but hey, we all have to start somewhere I suppose. I am actually in the process of selling my Playstation 2 collection which boasts of around 400 titles including special editions, but after recently moving home to a small flat, I realised that there is just no way I'm going to be able to store a full PAL collection (approx 2800 titles) and so I made the decision to sell up and move onto something more achievable. The Master System has a massive place in my heart after getting one for christmas when they were first released, my parents got me a couple of the games on the cards and even the 3d glasses and if I remember correctly, it was some form of maze game viewed from above. Anyway, I am now happily seeking out bargains from ebay and the local 'Electric Town' games shop which specialises in retro stuff. I live in Pontefract in West Yorkshire, England and my other hobby is making films (behave yourself, not that kind!! )

Hi mate, I'm Andy and I am from just over the pennines in Manchester, I started off like you, with a ms bought from cash generator and a modest pile of games.
We have a meet up in a couple of weeks in Manchester and I am sure the rest of the guys will be more than happy to extend a warm hand of friendship from experienced collectors, I am going for the first time (I only bought my sms a few months ago)
I'm a bit of a bargain hunter too so if anything you want is available I am pretty good at finding it
The game you are talking about is I think maze hunter 3d

Welcome fellow Yorkshire man Good luck building a collection at Electric Town, you may need to remortgage at their prices ;D! Ha ha, yeah, they aren't necessarily the cheapest place to buy stuff from. Just remembered the other shop I usually go to since it's in my hometown...Console Yourself! Their prices are reasonable but they don't have a massive collection of master system games. Where in Yorkshire you live?

Not quite possible yet as I haven't even bought a system. I'm sure I read that a master system won't just simply plug straight into a new generation TV and work...Is this true? Do I need some kind of connection to make it work or were they talking a load of bull!!?

The standard cable that came with them is a aerial lead, which you'll need to tune your to into on a channel of your choice. If you buy an A/V also known as a composite (yellow, red, white connector) cable then you don't need to tune in at all, just press the A/V button on your TV's remote. Better yet buy an RGB Scart lead, which gives a superior image. Both kinds are easily available on ebay, but require a model 1 console, as the SMSII only has an aerial RF connector.
Oh, and welcome!

If you get an sms 2 you have to plug into the aerial socket, perfectly possible but picture quality wasnt great, a crt tv is a much better option for either system depending what sort of space you have you can get something good
