Just thought that some people may be interested in a section of my website which consists of mainly of scans of Sega adverts and articles from British console magzines from the early 90's. The links themselves are in Danish, but they shouldn't be too difficult to understand. www.geocities.com/kristoffersen06/segascans.html

Does anyone remmeber the TV adverts for the master system? they were pretty short and i think only ran over one christmas.. It was like a tv screen witha test signal on it and i think it said somthing like "Isnt life DULLL? what we need about here is a SEGA!" then its showed you a picture of loads of sega games, but no actual game screenshots. its no wonder with marketing like that that nobody even knew what the sega WAS! you didnt even see the system in the advert! at the time the NES was showing those adverts with that robot thingy in it accompanied with some rock-ish music background

Then there was the TV saying to you "Do me a favour... Plug me into a SEGA."

I remember one funny Sega Ad. of the past. It had a man playing SMS in the lounge and while he was doing this a man spoke examples of Sega MS games. The funny thing was it did'nt actually show the same game that was said on the TV screen. Like the guy said "Games like Double Dragon" and then the screen showed the Fire Breathing Dragon from Golden Axe and then it said "Altered Beast" and show the Krell(End of 1st Level Boss) from R-type. lol. Anyhow the guy playing the games it seemed to be going mad the more he played the games and eventually I think he flopped back on the floor and his kids picked up the controls and started playing and looking at the screen with awe. Meanwhile you saw the man bedded up on the couch in the background with his wife tending to him. lol What a strange ad. Its one of the first Sega ads I remember. This was a New Zealand made ad I suppose

I Only can remember one TV Spot for the master system, must be around Summer 1992 where they promoted the Master System Summer Pack, a master system 2 with 3 games (think Sonic, Alex Kidd and Columns). I can just remember that some parents stand in front of a freezer and put the master system out of it, telling that the ms is the real cool system for the hot days. Really freaky and i think that was the only tv spot sega made in germany

I got loads of dutch and english magazines, including the first 4 editions of Sega Club, the official sega magazine, you had to pay to receive it back in the days.

The writing's unreadable (due to colours not the language!) and I get runtime errors.
