I think at the best of times I've fairly forgiving of bad Sega games, I'll just note some that just made me shake my head sometimes:-
1.Running Battle:-Well I really thought this was one of the most frustrating games to play. Did'nt get much enjoyment from it at all from start to finish and it looked promising. The storyline during the game also made me think " Did they care at all about this game when they produced it?". The music is ok though I must admit
2.My Hero:-Well its ok I guess, but having just 3 levels repeated over and over is'nt much depth. I know a lot of old games were like this though, having levels repeated. One thing I'll say is that with the multiple Hoodulums coming for you, success is too relient on the flying kick and I'd like to be able to utilize the various moves more. The fight with Mohikan is ok. But I think there should be an ending to the game with Mokihan down for good.
3.Vigilante:-I'd had a go at the original arcade version and felt it was pretty good, but I felt this one was not a very good conversion. Quite frustrating to play. Enemies grab hold of you and drain you like in 'Kung Fu Master' but it seems to happen more here. Found that the punch worked better than other moves and the flying kick or punch was hard to perform. The graphic I must admit are fairly good.
4.Dik Tracy:-Found this game really dull. I could'nt actually figure out how to work the tommy gun at first. Yeah graphics ar'nt much. Music is decent. Just a game with not much substance.
5. Double Dragon:-I really liked the coin-op but this I don't feel was a good conversion. Much more difficult to fight in this version. Very easy to be killed. We're fortunate for the unlimited continues up to the end of level 3.
There a few disappointing games I can name

Have to agree with most people on this one (wow thats not like me)
f16 fighting turd - who came up with this? i understand it to be originally an arcade game too? i wouldve love to have seen the cabinet for this one.
Ace of Aces - more turd that lets you fly about aimlessly looking for "dots" to shoot with your "dots" i cant understand the appeal.
I think that flight sims on the SMS were just very poor in general, the only one i enjoyed was G-LOC (and that was alot more arcadey) afterburner was ok until i discovered that if i stayed in the far upper left corner of the screen that i couldnt be hit by any missiles. grr
Strider - Should have been a great game, its got the graphics for it. the slowdown though makes the game unplayable.
Xenon 2 - same problem as strider, in the later levels the game slows down so much its like watching a slide show.
Shadow dancer- great graphics, sounds, amazingly fluid movment - spoilt by "one hits kills me" syndrome making the game impossibly hard.
Super monaco GP - Arggh what is this racing turd? its a turd with wheels? it doesnt even feel like your moving
Impossible mission - well they certinly got the title right, i wonder who came up with the idea for this one.. U.S. gold must have sat down and said "right, lets make a version of zillion where the guy has no gun, in which the puzzles are impossibly hard because they dont make sense AND the player has NOT ONE IOTA what theyre doing, and lets make it so the guy has infinite lives so you can repeatedly watch him die over and over! wow im conviced.. heres the development fee einstein... arghhh
Predator 2 - could movie licences get any worse? oh yeah - theres back to the future 1& 2 as well..
Super smash tv - Ok lads, we got the development fee through today, lets spend all the time "developing it" down in the pub - this is just really bad.
come to think of it, it really is amazing what we used to spend our hard earned cash on..

I've not yet played this one, but I doubt I will. It sounds like a lame idea for a game. But I heard a similar joke about a game in magazine which said something like "This game must have been produced when it was Let's let Bob the janitor do the programming-day at the office" Though I myself enjoy Impossible Mission and Impossible Mission II for whatever reason

Nothing of this games are so bad than some brazilian games made by TecToy. I'm from Brazil and have acess to these trashes.
And the Oscar goes to: 1. "20 em 1" - The worst game ever. The graphics sucks, the sound is inexistant and the playability is worse than anything (except Pica-Pau, second placed in my list)
2. "Férias Frustradas do Pica-Pau" - The worst playability of videogames' history, surely. Jump over the simplest plataform is a great challenge. Luck is much more important than competence...
3. "Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum" - Reasonable graphics, horrible sound (it's not the worst in Master System because korean "ToTo World 3" was capable to do more) and a borely in-game action put this piece of * at 3rd place.
4. "Geraldinho" - The original game (Teddy Boy) sucks. And this TecToy's hack is capable to be worst than original version.
5. " Danan: the jungle fighter" - Finally a non-brazilian game! What's happens with this cart? It's unbelieveble that they could make this nuts of pseudo-adventure/rpg game.
The Other Prizes: Worst graphics: F-16 Fighting Falcon Worst sound: ToTo World 3 (Korea) Worst playability: Férias Frustradas do Pica-pau (Brazil) Worst story: Cloud Master

I used to collect the games, but now I also got a SMS console and I'm really disgusted about the sound in lot's of games. I can't make a top 5.
the only reaonable sound was in Sonic1.

The worst game in my opinion is Wonderboy. Shinobi Has a crappy ending but is fun to play.

Crappy ending? where? i wouldve loved shinobi to have a crappy ending, anything would have been better than "game over!"
Shinobi is one of the best games on the master system though.well worth playing, and joe is just so cool the way he does that "glide" thing when he walks. the only negative thing i have to say about shinobi is that once you get past a certin point dying once will make it impossible to complete the game as you lose all your powerups/lifeups etc

Worst games, they's quite a few. The early ones Great Volleyball, Super Tennis and Great Football are really bad.
Agassi Tennis is the worst sports game, the players run around too quickly and the music is appaling
Super Monaco GP is the worst racing game
F16 Fighter is the worst air sim
Crappy platform games include Psychic World and Eswat
The worst master system game has to be:
ALF with its horrible music, dodgy collision detection and crap ending

Hey, I LOVE a few of those games you guys are bashing, especially Wonder Boy.
And in defense of F-16 (even though I don't like it), It's not actually a SMS game, but a SG-1000 game with a SMS title screen. That's why the graphics are just solid colors.
