Prices on games varied depending on place of purchase the same as they do today with modern consoles. It depends how late we in the Master System's lifespan we are talking here. For instance, I remember about 1991 when a store called "what everyone wants" started selling ALL games at £12.99, including Ultima, Phatasy Star (this is where I bought these games) and yet still sold cheaper to produce games like Transbot and My Hero all for the same price.
By the following year all games were down to £9.99, then after that as low as £4.99, I remember this well, because I got my last "New" game here, it was Master of Darkness. What an absolute bargain!

I rememeber buying (with my birthday money!) Psychofox from Toys R Us for £29.99, it was back in the day when all the games were not on display, there was just a picture of the front and back of the boxes of all the games and you had to take a ticket for the game you wanted up to the computer section till. What a great system.
I also seem to rememeber the SMS 1 with Hang on and Safari Hunt and the Light Gun being £89.99 in the Argos catalogue.

yup, also, most new games out after 1993/94 rrp was £34.99 - Rob v Term, MK1 & 2, champ hockey, etc. all retailed at that in high street stores. before that, most new releases had been £29.99 around late 1991/92/93. I remember a lot of the prices - they got engrained in my brain for some reason! Enduro racer was £9.99, KFK was £14.99 or sometimes £17.99, and damn prowrestling was indeed £24.99. I always wanted it but it was too expensive then for me! Ah well, times change!
