Mine was the Classic release of Wonder Boy and then there was Cheese Cat-Astrophe which recently reached 50+ thanks to mr_whistles.

I traded in some game (I forget which) for Out Run 3-D.
The only problem was that I had an SMS 2 and no 3D headset, so I obviously couldn't play it. I didn't think that'd matter because the guy in the shop assured me it'd be fine because it came with a set of those blue-and-red, papery "glasses" (in the side with the manual).
Needless to say, when I got it home, all it was was a flashing mess that was unplayable. It was returned the next day as "faulty" and something else was obtained - not a 3D game (although I forget what it was).
Apart from that, I had -- amongst other games -- the ULTRA RARE L@@k RARE RAAAARE!!1 games known as Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

Well, are you SURE that your Sonic 2 wasn't the Master System II version? The super rare variation? You could have had a Gem there...

oh hell! I threw away all the packaging/boxes and even broke all of the cases for the games back when we were kids ... lost manuals/inserts etc etc... we were rather careless I actually had to go out and buy cases for the games when I got back into it still dont have manuals and had to print out inserts for all the cases

I didn't buy them but my sister was working at SEGA at the time and came home with a couple copies of Alf, some Genesis proto carts, etc.
