So Nintendo's latest handheld is due out on these shores in a few weeks. Of course it can't hope to compare to the still futuristic awesomeness of the Master Sytem 3D glasses. But its got to be better than their last attempt - the neck and eye straining Virtual Boy. So is anyone interested in it? or planning on buying one?
My original model DS doesn't exactly see much use any more, but I'm still getting a bit tempted by the new 3DS. I don't think the launch line-up of games is too exciting though.

I'm semi-tempted: I've heard good things about it, but I can't see any games which sell it to me. That'll change once the 3D Pokémon games are released, though.
Plus, the games are £35-ish each... I can't even justify spending that much on games I've been looking forward to for ages, let alone a 3DS game.
I'll wait for more games, I think.

I like the idea of a new Pilot Wings. It's tempting, I wouldn't mind one but I doubt I'll get it anytime soon.
Did you happen to see the Virtual Boy on Pawn Stars? I love how they get the old man to play it at the end. "This damn thing's giving me a headache."

Aparently they were demo'ing them in Manchester today but I worked from home, hopefully get to see one tomorrow I am tempted, but like playgen, i dont use my old DS much. However its my 30th in June and my girlfriend keeps asking what to get me. Might be an idea.

The Virtual Boy is the one system I do sort of regret selling, mainly because its so odd and looks cool.
I think I might buy some more DS games again as I haven't bought any in a long time and only have a few, then see if the 3DS still appeals.

I'm going to get it, but down the road in a couple of years.
Reasons being: - see if they come out with any flash cards that work - prize drop - a newer and better model might arrive like they did with the DS Lite
But in the end i'm sure it will be worth it's money aslong as it has even a fraction of the games the DS has/had.
I'm more interested in upgrading my phat DS to an XL version.

That vid of the virtual boy was pretty wicked. That guy got ripped off selling it for 80 bucks. He could have got around 200 for the virtual boy boxed on ebay.

I thought that was a fairly generous price, its not like they are that rare, plus they have got to make a profit out of it. And you've always got to expect less for wanting cash in hand right away. If it wasn't for the cameras, or he had taken it to a proper games shop, the offer probably would have been half that.

Yeah. I guess you're right. I guess I would've just hocked it on ebay to get some more money.

The battery life is apparently terrible next to a regular DS - especially with 3D enabled. Although the health warning that you shouldn't play in 3D mode for more than 30 minutes or whatever kinda negates the whole purpose of the handheld.
However, people like new tech, so it'll probably be a massive success.
I'd rather Nintendo focused on bringing the games to Wii, sans 3D. Super Street Fighter IV and the new Resi, specifically.

I've only seen the 3DS online. Is there some sort of eye strain that goes along with playing it? 30 minutes isn't long, it's hard for someone who has never seen it or played it to know how serious of a warning that is.
Like with Virtual Boy, 10 - 20 minutes playing and you had a killer headache.

Like with Virtual Boy, 10 - 20 minutes playing and you had a killer headache. It's a really strange feeling when you come back into the real world after 40 minutes on a VB . Like Playgen, the VB is probably the only console I regret getting rid of, Red Alarm is a great game . I'll get a 3DS. In 20 years time for £5 at a car boot sale...
