I noticed that in the rarity guide that masters of combat has the same rating as smurfs2, is it that rare?. Can anyone speculate how many copies are likely to be around?. I find it wierd that a sega developed game that is actually good, wasnt sold more, any ideas why? And lastly was it released on Gamegear too?, ive never seen it, surely making a completely exclusive sms game in 1993 was a strange thing to do.

It's nowhere near as rare as Smurfs 2 and from what I have seen on ebay, it's less rare than Championship Hockey too. I've had hold of a couple of copies without much bother and two have been up on ebay in the past weeks. I'm pretty sure this game would have been produced in the thousands rather than the hundreds, it's hard to find, but as I've only ever seen 3 copies of Smurfs 2 available to buy, I think it's safe to say it's not even close to the rarity of Smurfs 2.
I don't think there's a GG version of it available.

from purely watching ebay I'd also agree and say that championship hockey is rarer than masters of combat, although masters tends to attract a higher price.
Im really looking forward to finding a copy of masters of combat as I've heard so much about it.
Where does Mickeys ultimate challenge rank with these games? because ive seen 2 copies of smurfs 2 on ebay but only one ultimate challenge and that was missing the instructions book.

I would consider Championship Hockey more rare as a collector but as a trader i would rather have a copy of Masters of Combat.
From a players point of view i would rather play F16 than MOC as it is nothing but a SF2 rip off and really really sucks.
I think i have posted this in another thread somewhere but MOC is like an AVP for the jaguar. It raises descent money without actually being RARE (In the sence that there is loads of copies around). I can recall around 2 years ago AVP for for around £30 for a loose cart, i was laughing becuase i had 12 copies of this game in stock and sold them on for a MINT. I think the lowest i got was £24.32 for a cart only with ripped label to £70ish for a boxed with all bits.
Prices have dropped drastically with the influx of EBay users which makes it easy to get a bargain on things that are not too rare but you will have to have big bucks to even think about bidding on say a smurfs 2 because every man and his dog search that everyday in the hope of one popping its little blue A*se on there.

Yeah, i agree too, i hope our good friend Racoon lad does something about that and repairs the injustice!! What does Racoon lad have to do with the rarity list? As far as I know only Anagrama and Stan have editing rights on the site. I noticed the masters of combat a while back, i agree its rarity doesn't compare to the likes of Smurfs2.

While we're here, does anyone have a spare copy of Smurfs 2 that they want to sell me? Or a Championship hockey for that matter.

I believe Anagrama has final say on those rarities too.

Yeah, there's no way they should be equal, and I'm pretty sure they weren't in the past. (I suspect Stepanic's fiddling). Fixed now.

I don't think there's a GG version of it available. It has been released on Game Gear under the name "Buster Fight".

Hey, why when something is wrong am I always suspected of fiddling. I didn't touch the Euro rarities, that wasn't my area.
