August is most likely for my availability! I'm going to Mexico in the middle of June for a fortnight, and I'm away golfing for a week sometime in July... of course if it was in those months but outside those dates I'd still make an effort to be there!! Manchester would be ok for me too!

It is indeed. Check the "Sega8bit.com '08 Event" thread for details - I'm too lazy to find and link to it. :) It's easy to get to; we took a train from Brum to a Manchurian station not far from the venue. Minimal walking - but it was pouring with rain at the time. Ah, the British Summer.... Nice. I should hopefully still be in Brum for the Summer, so can meet at New Street. But anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself :)

What do the Londoner's think though? Mumble grumble etc. Well, it's at least half-way so it suits those living up north, which seems to be the centre of gravity of the forums anyway and we know it'll work out OK. Summer seems to be prime time for people not to be able to come due to holidays/weddings/etc - any given weekend you come up with will be a problem for someone. Maybe better to pick a quieter time of year? April/May?

Maybe better to pick a quieter time of year? April/May? Sounds like a good plan to me. April and May are clear here; does that work for everyone else?

I'm working quite a few weekends this summer as well as going on my hols so Spring/Autumn would be better for me. I'll be working weekends then too though so hopefully everyone will decide on a date when I'm not working .

No Chance! The cup is mine for eternity The only reason you have it is because I couldn't make the '09 event. It will be coming back home to me this year, you can count on it I'm up for holding it in The Lass again, definitely worth travelling for. I will destroy you at any game Ian: My word is my bond!!! Battle Outrun blindfolded controlling a Handle Controller with my left hand and peeling an orange with my right, as I hear the squeech of tyres on smooth tarmac and the wind in my air, I am unbeatable...erm maybe not! The earlier the better for me, the start of May would be a good time...

May is OK for me too (I think) as long as I don't have any assignment hand ins or whatever.

In the interests of getting things organised...
- If we go for the Lass again, does someone want to liaise with Prof peach about it? (Someone in Manchester?) - Shall we pick a date and start arguing about it? I'll randomly choose 21 May as the first bid as it has an outside chance of not being horribly cold.
Or should we say the winner has to organise the next event? That'd be a pretty big disincentive...

Looking at you rupes That date is fine by me. Any objections? Disincentive or not, I'm winning. Everyone, especially Phil, is going to get taken down, down-town.

The 21st of May is good for me - it gets my vote.
