Anyone interested in a UK meet this year coming? :) Yeah, it'd be good to have one this year. I expect we'll aim for the summer again, since that usually works best for most people.

Cool. I'm definitely up for something like that, I will be haunting the boards more, and living in the Midlands helps!

For sure . Lets get cracking with it early this year to ensure it happens! Anyone want to take the helm? I suppose we need to decide whereabouts it's gonna be this year first before someone takes charge . That cup is mine this year

I'm in.
Prof peach from the lass pub (sega8bit 08) said we could have it there again when i spoke with him a few months ago. They now have a room upstairs you can use for this type of event, would be okay for up to about 8 - 10 people.

If so, that'd be very useful since I've ditched all of my portable TVs - not that I'd fancy taking them on the train... Not trying to step on Ninjabearhug's toes by adding my support to the Lass Pub, by the way. :) I'd be willing to travel up North if that's where it is this year. Got somewhere in mind, Ninja? (And if not, there's still plenty of time)

(And if not, there's still plenty of time) I can drop him an email but i beleive he does have TV's as they run a monthly computer club there. I'm yet to attend but i think a fair few off the Retro Gamer forum go. I could start by dropping him an email to test the water, ask for some availabe dates to choose from, ask about TV's etc. Once i get a responce i can make a new thread with a poll for the dates and ideas for the comp. This is all unless somebody else has another idea about location? Ninja?

No Chance! The cup is mine for eternity The only reason you have it is because I couldn't make the '09 event. It will be coming back home to me this year, you can count on it I'm up for holding it in The Lass again, definitely worth travelling for.

Perhaps it's time we started a "Sega8bit.com '11 Event" thread. :) I'll leave that to an admin-type person so they can fork this thread to create it (assuming this forum allows such fanciful actions).

Done Not if I can help it . as long as I know in advance what the games are (I still haven't played most SMS games!), then I'll give you a run for your money . I vote Power Strike for the shmup ;D.

Perhaps. Some time between June and August will be most likely. We'll have a poll up at some point so that people can vote on their favourite date/period. The pub is in Manchester, correct? It is indeed. Check the "Sega8bit.com '08 Event" thread for details - I'm too lazy to find and link to it. :) It's easy to get to; we took a train from Brum to a Manchurian station not far from the venue. Minimal walking - but it was pouring with rain at the time. Ah, the British Summer....
