Hey Grolt,
Was it a loose sheet? Could you send me a pic? Matt said something about that one. Honestly, I didn't really believe it. I thought he meant the 1990 booklet had an extra page that was different.
I can't think of any others but I wouldn't doubt if there are more. Seems odd it would be in the SM version.
I noticed something strange about Joe Montana. I have one that says football in green on the spine and another is blue. It didn't look faded and the front and back of the blue one say football in green so it didn't seem like an ink problem either.

That sounds like fading to me, since often it's the spine that's the only thing exposed to direct light. I have several games with that syndrome! I'll scan the AKIMW page soon. EDIT: Here it is... It was just a loose sheet on regular paper, slightly smaller than a page in the manual. It was inserted into the first page. Do you have a scan of Alien Syndrome that you could post here?

That Alex Kidd sheet is interesting. I just looked and don't have it. It was a SM booklet as well. Here's the Alien Syndrome sheet

I just found this about the hamburger in Alex Kidd
"Note that Alex Kidd in Miracle World is available in THREE slightly varied versions: one with rice balls, one with hamburgers, and one with root beer. (The ball/hamburger/beer is the item Alex is eating/drinking on the intermission map screen.) It appears that the root beer version is limited to cart only, although cart versions with the rice ball exist. The hamburger version has been found in the SMS II only (thus far). I have no idea how rare the root beer or hamburger versions of AKIMW are. Note that the root beer cart was reported in Puerto Rico, and the hamburger variation in Indiana. No actual gameplay differences have been reported."
This really makes me wonder if it's true or they just had three different people call whatever Alex is eating three different things. I guess seeing one seems limited to the built in game on the SMS II maybe it is true.
I could see how different people would see it as something different.

I guess seeing one seems limited to the built in game on the SMS II maybe it is true. I could see how different people would see it as something different. Check out this that I found out on SMSPower.org: US/European BIOS with Alex Kidd in Miracle World (1990) US/European BIOS with Alex Kidd in Miracle World bumper screen US/European BIOS with Alex Kidd in Miracle World bumper screen This BIOS features a different bumper screen to previous versions, with just a static Sega logo and no sound. It does not feature the "Snail Maze" secret game. Its checking routines are almost identical to those of the US/European BIOS v4.4. The built-in game is now Alex Kidd in Miracle World. The $2 checksum range bug is fixed, even though the previously released incompatible BIOSes meant that it could not be used. The removed items ("Master System" logo, animation, music, "Snail Maze" game) meant that the checksumming code was minimised and was more feasible to insert into unused space in game with an almost-full ROM. The game is almost the same as the cartridge version, except that: * The title screen copyright date is 1990 instead of 1986 * The rice cake Alex Kidd eats before each level was changed to a hamburger (to better suit Western audiences) * The jump and punch buttons were reversed (to the more common layout where 2 = jump) ROM part code: MPR-12808 Dumped by Mike Gordon. This is a 128K ROM requiring frame 2 mapping.

I searched around a little bit and cannot find any pics anywhere. I tried loading up the bios into an emulator and it doesn't seem to work, so I can't grab a screenshot. Anyone else have a pic with the hamburger???

Awesome!
It's weird how that first pic didn't have the lettuce. I guess that proves it.
