What do people make of the stuff being shown this year? The games for xbox's Natal (or whatever it is called now) look pretty weak. The sort of stuff that has been done on the wii to death already. Whereas Nintendo have shown some classy looking comebacks for Donkey Kong, Kirby and the greatest game of all time - www.youtube.com/watch?v=n04WwwZ2ZuE- much more interesting. By the sounds of it the 3D DS works well, but I guess its something you need to see yourself to properly judge. Got to be better than the virtual boy anyway

Kinect - possibly the only thing they could call it (within the realms of decency) which sounds worse than Natal (even considering that Natal was bizarrely pronounced "Na-talle" rather than, y'know, "Nay-tel" seeing as that's how it previously existed in English).
The games look terrible - but only because Microsoft are charging straight at the casual market. Let's face it, you can't do a lot more than party games with it. FPS, action and RPG are pretty much ruled out. Driving would see you actually lose realism by taking away the steering wheel and pedals. It's basically for games that need you to flail aimlessly and also for Wii Fit rivals.
The problem with Kinect is that it doesn't address the good side of motion control. The few hardcore leaning titles the Wii has are incredible - if you can look past the graphics. Call of Duty feels amazing when you're actually holding a gun in your hands, likewise Metroid Prime and The Conduit. Games like Madworld and No More Heroes use the motion controls really well in a more traditional action game setting. Dead Space Extraction has shown (despite pisspoor sales) that you can create a truly excellent rail shooter as well.
Sony's Move will enable you to do all that the Wii w/motion+ currently does but with the PS3 hardcore library AND get the casual market... I can see a return to 1996-2005 dominance for Sony if Nintendo don't have something special either for the Wii or replacing the Wii. A call for Wii HD is laughable given the system's limited graphical power - the resources would be better spent on a true successor.
3DS sounds like it could be really amazing and possibly the first step into making "proper" 3D technology a reality - none of this special glasses crap. The list of reboots for it remind me of the reason I bought a GBA - a truckload of SNES re-releases with added bells on.

Move is bulky from what I played of it. The buttons on the second controller are awkward to access. 3DS and Kirby are probably the best things of the show.

There wasn't a right lot that hadn't already been shown TBH, although there were a few games that were of interest to me that I hadn't heard much about previously. Bring on Splatterhouse on PS3 . Sonic 4 looks OK too, although Sega will probably manage to mess it up somehow...

Sonic 4 was delayed so that's at least a good news. Its being made by Dimps in Osaka, btw, Sega's not doing it (although I suppose as a publisher and IP owner they must be involved a lot).
