SEGA has been pretty good to mobile gamers by releasing some of their most coveted 16-bit games to the system, including Sonic, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Columns. Soon though, their first Master System title will hit, and it's probably the last game anyone would expect... Compile's Zelda-breaker masterpiece, Golvellius: Valley of Doom has recently been announced for the iPhone. I couldn't find a release date, but there's a big write-up at IGN with some screenshots: wireless.ign.com/articles/100/1006833p1.htmlVery cool and very unexpected. I think RPGs would be great on the go and it's nice to finally see SEGA bring one over mobile. Hopefully they keep up that trend, not only in RPGs but also in bringing over Master System games. I'd love to see some Alex Kidd, Wonder Boy, Fantasy Zone or Golden Axe Warrior on the system, too. All SEGA's previous adventure games on the iPhone have had state saving, so I'm guessing that will be included for Golvellius. That would mean they'd have to code out all that cumbersome passwording, which sounds like it would be a fair bit of work. Or maybe both will exist in tandem. Who knows, but I can't wait to play it! Anyone else have any iPhone games from Service Games?

Would you be using the touch screen instead of buttons to play then? Sounds kind of tough for anything that needs quick movement or rapid button presses.

Buttons are transparent on the bottom corners of the screen, both the D-pad and the attack buttons. It works surprisingly well. You always get the option of playing the game full screen with the buttons transparent over the game or to window box the game so the inputs won't cover up any of the screen.
