I hope to god this thing isn't really Master System related. I know it probably isn't, because Gradiente was an NES pirate company that released a pirated NES and several games, Crimebusters being one of their unique, homebrew ventures. Interesting design though, what say? img.mercadolivre.com.br/jm/img?s=MLB&f=95665101_8897.jpg&v=OI think this should be included in the site in some way since at least the design has been ripped off of the Master System. Weird, a pirated gun for a pirated system from a totally different 8-bit console.

Cool, well I guess it makes it pointless to care then, but I might save the image for our Brazilian run-down when we go over that section.

Hello all, I'm from Brazil and, as you can see, I'm new here. That gun was released around 1989 by Gradiente for its NES clone, called Phantom System. The console itself uses basically the same case design of the Atari 7800 console, though the hardware is a normal NES clone (using 72 pins cartridges). Of course, the design was copied without any permision from Atari. The so called "Laser Gun" is nothing more than a NES Zapper Gun using a case based on the SMS's Light Phaser. That game, Crime Busters, was not made by Gradiente, it was produced by a taiwanese company called Bit Corporation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit_Corporation), and Gradiente - believe it or not - bought the rights to release it here. Gradiente wasn't a pirate company at all, it was a popular electronic company that used to made high quality TVs, sound systems, etc. They are still around here, and selling these kind of things. Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks for the info! Hey, since you seem knowledgeable about Brazil, I should let you know that we're currently starting preliminary work on a 'country' page with release information for different countries. rwilmers is going to help with the Brazilian section, but you're welcome to give any input and pictures.

Hi Stan, Firstly, thanks for the welcome. I'm member of a brazillian community dedicated on Sega consoles, I'm not sure if you know, but we are current making a complete list of all Tec Toy games oficially released here. These lists will be (and actually are) VERY reliable, beacause the game is only added to the list, if someone posts a real picture of the game box showing the logo 'Tec Toy', or documentation in portuguese, etc. There are no hoax in the list, only true releases. The Master System list is pratically complete, we are trying to list these alphabetical characters (letters?) that appears in some game boxes too, it was used to sheet table game prices. Games with low letters, like A or B, were cheap. Games with 'high' letters, like E or G, were more expensive, at the time, of course. These letters you can see circulated in the front of the box. The list can be checked here - www.sega-brasil.com.br/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=277 (in portuguese, you may use a online translator, probably many peoples here already knows about this site). Ah, yes, rwilmers is a member of Sega-Brasil too, he has a HUGE collection of SMS games (and others consoles too). I will check the entire Sega8bit.com website, and the forums as well, to see what is needed/what I can help. Any information you (all) needs, can be questioned in that brazilian forum I posted above, in english too. Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks! You'll see a thread on this forum in the 'Site Discussion' section where we're starting to pool people and information for the country pages. Feel free to post in there with any ideas or what not. I'll check out your page in a bit after I finish adding more hardware to the database.

Welcome around, Joe Well, I believe the Sega-Brasil forum could help with the brazilian "country page", Stan; I see you are concerned about citations or facts that would back up the story, so having a few of the most notorious collectors and gamers from those early 8-bit days (like Wilmers, our own version of rupert, or Norian and many others) could help a lot. Maybe we could write something over there and have a portuguese version on Sega-Brasil and an english version on Sega8bit... I don't know. Anyway, if you feel it's appropriate I could throw the idea over there and see what they think of it, if they've got the time or if they'd like to do it by any chance.
