As some of you might know, i haven't got a clue about PC's.
My PC keeps downloading and installing an "important security update" from Software distribution service 3.0. Only problem is this update is making my PC so secure that it won't allow me internet access. I can't see any changes to my firewall or other security devices after installing the update, and i keep having to do a system restore to be able to access the net.
Any ideas before i smash it to pieces?

Try going into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the update Apparantly Software Distribution Service is for networking computers together to share drives or somesuch, so you shouldn't need it anyway. And it interferes with internet, seems like its a problem a lot of people run into.
You can turn off automatic updates, so you get to pick and choose which updates you want to install - so you can leave out the offending SDS thing.
