[July 30, 2007] w00t! A whole new system is being brought to you by Tec Toy: ◄-- click Yeah, a new color, same six-button-controller-with-only-two-actually-working-buttons but also in a different color, lots of games, probably still missing the cartridge slot; I hope to have confirmation of that somewhat soon, though. It now comes with Sonic Drift 2, Sudoku and some (intended) nice stickers for you to "customize" your console... Edit: fixed link.

I wonder if they have hacked Sonic Drift or whether the console has the same gamegear/sms on a chip as the recent handhelds with 20 games built in.
Didn't their last sms console come out only recently?, and the DVD player with sms games too, Tectoy sure are squeezing all the money the can out of sms.

The last one (120-in-1) was released in mid-2006 - they seem to be updated on an annual basis. Haven't got time to translate the description at the moment, but can anyone tell whether this one has a working cart-slot or not?

Luiz in Brazil would probably pick one up for you if you really wanted it. This is getting out of hand though, but this model is definitely worth it for Put and Puter.

How much does it cost in your country? Well, I don't know yet; it came out just recently and I haven't had time to check the stores yet. It's probably going to be the same as the previous one (R$200, about £52,50). Haven't got time to translate the description at the moment, but can anyone tell whether this one has a working cart-slot or not? There's no mention of anything concerning the cartridge slot on the site's description; that's why I said I should have some kind of confirmation on that soon. does anyone know where you can buy them new? i've been trying with no sucess, surely someone must ship worldwide There are a few stores that will sell them online, but they won't ship it internationally. So you're pretty much stuck with what Stan said -- having someone to buy it and send it to you...

Got an answer from Tec Toy today concerning the cartridge slot -- in a very short sentence, they ended up confirming the expected by telling me that it doesn't have a properly working cartridge slot. Simple as that...

Eh, figures - not much point if they're not selling carts any more... Thanks for checking though!

Do you think they will eventually have a SMS with every single game ever made on or is that too much to hope for? I can't believe they still selling that well to bring out a new model. Surely the same people aren't buying a new model everytime it come out just for a few more games?
What's the population of Brazil? You must trip up for all the Sega's that are are over there?

Heh, we have 185 to 190 million people living in here, currently... They're not that lucrative of a company, but they have got into other areas more recently. Of course people don't buy a new version every time it comes out, but it's noticeable that 10 year old kids and such are buying these consoles; releasing a new version every year with almost no additional cost is somewhat just a way to regain the market's attention -- which they seem to be doing with an acceptable efficiency. Since the release of that 20-em-1 + Sonic built-in model, Tec Toy has changed their focus to a more... kids- only approach; so, having a model with every single SMS game ever made is, unfortunately, too much to hope for. The original SMS games still built-in to these consoles are the ones that were classified, in equivalency to that ESRB system, as "Everyone" (E) by our Ministry of Justice (the only difference being the minimal recommended age -- 6 years old out there, 7 here). So it's more likely that these remaining original titles eventually give room to new Tec Toy "masterpieces" than having any other titles included in future versions. Which is a shame, really.

Bump. Don't know if you already know that, but Tec Toy has just announced a new Master System 131-in-1 console (link is not from Tec Toy's site because there's no info about the console in there yet), coming out this month -- a year after the last model, pretty much like it's been happening with all the last bunch-in-one consoles they have released. Since it keeps the "131-in-1" title, I believe the games will be the same as last version's, but apparently there's no confirmation on that as of yet. What we can assume from the picture is that there won't be any cartridge slot whatsoever... Suggested price is R$239,00 which is equivalent to £77,60 or €98,10 or US$151,70.

Interesting....
I notice that they're still calling it a SMS3 even though it's clearly a completely different design! Weird.
I have to say it looks quite nice mind you. Might have to get my hands on one when they come out.

I really like the look of that, I thought of doing something similar myself - putting a flat panel on top of the lower half of the SMS2, since theres lots of empty space in there.
