Yeah, Power Strike has a lot of frenzy throughout, it's amazing the graphics keep up.
Basketball Nightmare, eh? I can't even remember the last sports game I've played on the SMS (okay fine, Summer Games, but still); I've never played Nightmare yet, though. Always loved the cover and the concept of those games that mesh sports and weirdness (like Bad News Baseball on the NES or Mutant League on the Mega Drive). I'll have to bust it out.

Asterix saga and ninja gaiden have excellent graphics.I think that another game with good graphics is the wonderboy overcoat because it is of the first games.

The Plays which my most impressed from a technical point of view!
- Phantasy Star - These colors, these graphics, its animation, but especially its 3D in the phases of explorations of labyrinth.
As well as the diversity of the places to propose.
Wood, desert, glacier, drill, beach ect
Who more is each enemies to meet on a place in particular gives right to very the decorations during the combat!
- Wonder Boy 3 - There too graphics, very beautiful, very detailed, very coloured.
A very good animation at the time of the engagements against the Dragons.
Splendid decorations, like the passage with the Lion in the Samurais or the eagle in the castle.
The blow of the tranbsformations and the new pocibilities as to go to let us plafons with the mouse ect
And then sizes of the sprites like those of the Dragons, without deceleration!
- Shadow Dancer 'The Secret of Shinobi' - From a purely technical point of view Plays is really impressive!
It's a pity that the Play Range does not follow.
But it nevertheless impressed me!

For me it would be Fantasy Zone. It looked really awesome, those trippy colours still make an impression.

I hate to necro-post like this but, in my opinion The Ottifants has the best graphics bar none.
On a side-note, why is it that Wonderboy III on VC doesn't look right?

For me its Wonderboy II:the Dragons trap, Must be some of the best graphics ever on an 8-bit system.
Ninja Gaiden and any of the Sega/Disney and Virgin/Disney games too. They usually have a real goof use of colour and usually manage to pull of some great animations without much flicker.

Spot on, the lion king really impressed me but i was blown away by how similar the sms version of road rash is to its big brother!!!!

Sonic 1, Sonic Blast, Ninja Gaiden, Aerial Assault, California Games, Danan the Jungle Fighter, Alien Storm, Land of Illusion, Streets of Rage, Cool Spot, Global Gladiators, Sagaia and Micro Machines. I finished all of these games in the past except Aerial Assault and Sagaia (I´m bad in shooting games^^). All these games have good or very good graphics. But it´s only my personal point of view

This should be a simple open-and-close case; Chuck Rock II: Son of Chuck - this game looks flipping amazing; better graphics then many early 16-bit games!
Though I agree James Pond 2 looks completely and utterly fab also.

a lot of good looking games, the Asterix series, Wonderboy III, Ninja Gaiden, the Sega Disney Games but I think the best looking game is Road Rash.

Ninja Gaiden looks incredible in the first level. But then the second level, the city stage, has some of the worst backgrounds in any SMS game. Simplistic, flat colors with no texture... it's night and day after the amazing forest artwork. I'm not sure what happened with that.

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is the best port I've seen on the system to date.

Gonna have to go with Phantasy Star, the best game in the series and my favorite SMS game of all-time.
