I posted a game i'd sold on Ebay the Thursday before Easter, i sent it recorded delivery as requested. The buyer of the game has been sending me loads of emails ever since complaining that he hasn't received the game yet. I get woken up with a knock on the door this morning and find the postie stood there, nothing unusual i'm always been woken up by them as i buy a lot. Anyway, he hands me a parcel and says "sign here mate". I look at the parcel, bleary eyed and half asleep and think "That's one of mine". And sure enough it was the missing game. After a 5 minute argument with the postie telling him it should be in Newcastle not back with me, the postie refused to take the parcel back to the depot for reposting stating "Not my problem mate" so i'm stuck with a parcel i refused to sign for. I took it back to the post office and they try charging me again to send a parcel that they have delivered to the wrong address. Eventually after much shouting and arguing they agreed that they were at fault and that i don't have to pay again. What a bunch of spanners .

I've had this happen to me before too even though above my address in clear large block capitals 'RETURN ADDRESS IF UNDELIVERED' - with my address in a corner, written small in order that it is clearly distinguishable from the postal address. My local postman is really annoying too. On more than one occasion I've not been home and so he's delivered it to random people on my street (as in three houses down, on the opposite side etc.) but not bothered putting a card through my door to tell me. He did this with a new phone I'd bought a year or two ago and I didn't get it for about a week, by which stage I'd spent hours on the phone to royal mail, been to the sorting office twice, had various email correspondance with the seller etc. Such a huge inconvenience and yet royal mail always seem to just shrug their shoulders and say 'not our problem'.
