Does anyone know if there is an in-car charger for the Game Gear?
And if there is, do you think it would run an SMS?
I'm planning on hooking an SMS into my car, but i don't have a spare SMSII at the minute to try with a homemade cable (i have a few boxed SMSII's spare but don't want to blow them up). I've thought about doing it a few times before, but i've never had a car i liked enough to keep so didn't bother.

I know my MD power supply blew up one of my old GG's, and a MD power supply will run an SMS2. Therefore, IMO it won't work.
I'm guessing an SMS is centre negative and a game gear is centre positive? Could be wrong though?

I've thought about this before too, I've got a car adaptor for gamegear, once my GBA has charged up a bit to use it as a screen, I shall give it a whirl

The adaptor doesn't seem to fit into my cars cigarette lighter, doesn't even power on a gamegear.

I know my MD power supply blew up one of my old GG's, and a MD power supply will run an SMS2. Therefore, IMO it won't work. From my "detective work" (read: screwing around), it seems that the Mega Drive PSU supplies more power than the SMS PSU. The SMS PSU won't power the Mega Drive and you end up getting very weird and fun glitches (mainly graphical) on the Mega Drive. I think I posted about this before - probably on Sega16bit. I've got a generic power adapter which I use with my Game Gear - it powers my SMS fine (but not the Mega Drive).

A GG adapter will run an SMS, i use mine all the time. I've never been able to get a GG running off of a third party in-car charger though, they don't seem to throw out enough power, thats why i wanted to know if there was one specifically designed for the GG. I've found a couple of spare GG consoles lying around so i might try hard wiring one to my car and see what happens, I'm expecting lots of blown fuses . EDIT: I'm going to have to hard wire it, my cig lighter seems to be knackered

Just to confirm, there is an official Game Gear car adapter. I used to collect Game Gear stuff and took photos of most items before I packed them away.
