Right, I own this game, however it's sealed and I don't want to open it... unless it's worth it.
So... who owns it? Who wants it? Is it good?

Nah, it's a bit crap really - I mean, it's a good effort considering the system capabilities, but none of the characters really have the right 'feel' and most of the special moves are a nightmare to pull off on the SMS joypad.

well... to me, playing Street Fighter 2 on the SMS was a dream come true, i know the game is far from perfect, but as a SMS fan, i really enjoy playing the game everyone thought was impossible to convert to an 8 bits system!!

I don't think it's bad or anything, but I wouldn't open a sealed version of it if you have a thing for that. I opened mine and I was not disappointed. It's generally not bad, though he's right, it's hard to pull off the moves. You pretty much end up throwing a kick or punch all of the time. The ending is pretty lame and it's fairly easy to beat.

Why don't you buy Hyper street fighter 2 on PS2? And leave your sms version sealed.

Why don't you buy Hyper street fighter 2 on PS2? And leave your sms version sealed. 1. Because I don't have a PS2 and 2. Because Hyper SF2 doesn't have the SMS version on it. I do however have SF2:CE and SSF2 on the Mega Drive.

In that case just open the damn thing, does it really matter if it's sealed or not? That's taking game collecting to the extreme.Trying to get hold of a ps2 this time of year is like rocking horse faeces.I hate xmas i've had enough already.

Why leave it sealed, this game is 2 a penny these days, plus Tec Toy boxes are really crap and every new game I've got, the box has been scratched to death. Have a go at it and put the game in an official Sega box whilst you're at it.
Maybe SMS SF 2 is a bit ambitious, shame instead of just trying to replicate everything in terms of graphics and sounds, they constructed backgrounds and devised music which worked better on the ms. The MS hasn't stereo sound and the backgrounds in this version look very sparse. It's a shame they didn't make a unique 8 bit version.
The animation of sms SF 2 is pretty choppy and the special moves are pretty dam near impossible to pull off. Plus what's with the fireball thing? Your opponent throws 2 fireballs at once, often the 2nd one is invisible and impossible to avoid. Have you also noticed if you try to block you lose more energy than if you don't?
Also you could forgive the game for having no bonus rounds, but why isn't they an high score? At least if they was, the replay factor would be higher. Given that the game is far far too easy even on hard maybe you should stick with the Snes version.
The SMS version however is far better than the Spectrum or Commodore 64 versions, which isn't saying much.

I remember putting the snes version on the hardest setting,my god talk about cheating or what. Guile performs 3 sonic booms in the space of 4 seconds,so it would sound something like "sonic, sonic sonic boom".If you finish it without dying though you get a special ending but it took me a lot of doing and patience.
