Stone Roses, Charletans, Happy Mondays, (Oasis)...

Good Manchester bands: Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, The Chameleons, The Stone Roses
The Mondays and the Charlatans have their moments, but they don't cut it like those above. The rest of the 'Madchester' bands - Inspirals, Northside, The Farm etc are all fucking awful.
I won't even pass judgement on Oasis...

The Farm were scousers - I used to go to the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts on the New Deal (New Dole) and my tutor was the guitarist with them. He's a good fella you know. But yeah Joy Division, the Smiths and the Roses are in a different league to most bands, let alone ones from Manchester. The true test of a band is how much they can rubber duck you up when you're mashed

Ah, quite right. My bad And I'll concede that I quite like 'Saturn 5' by the Inspirals aswell. I swear that Clint Boon will DJ for a couple of pints and a bag of crisps these days tho' - it seems that he's playing at every fuc king indie club in the world about twice a month
