Not really its funny how much money some people spend for their pc...more than for their girlfriend So i don't see any sense in watercooling, casemodding (altough i have a modded case but that wasn't expensive) or the newest graphiccards (which most people overclock as soon as the thing is in the pc) To make it easy here is a link to my first pc: www.nethands.de/pys/show.php4?user=ShadowAngel - Its in german but i think you can figure it out ;D

lol. I spend next to nothing upgrading my PC. I bought one new piece of hardware since we first got the computer I think. A cheap microphone. lol. I think of people telling me how lame and out of date my computer is. Well it seems good enough for me.

I'm looking to have a great PC to composer music (sounds and midi combined) in high quality sound. Doing so requires a solid PC setup. My PC so far is...
M7VIZ Motherboard AMD Athlon 2000+ (1.7GHz) 512MB DDR RAM 60GB & 20GB HDDs 128MB GeForce 4 video card
I'm going to get a MIDI PCI hub soon so that I can connect MIDI modules into my PC. Um, errm...

hey there sinistral lol i started this thread ages ago and ive checked the last 10 threads and seen it on here
but hay it sounds like you have a beast there ,i just recently an asus a7n8x-s board and a zorro case but when id finished buying them i was prety upset as i wished id bought a shuttle barebones unit ,what was it like when you built your shuttle system ? and also do you rate them at all ? im thinking of getting one
at the moment though my pc consists of the following
zorro atx case asus a7n8x mb athlon thunderbird 1.333 cpu 512 pc 3200 ddr memory 60 gig pc133 hd asus gforce fx5200 128 mb graphics sounblaster live 5.1 sound card 52x cdrw
not a bad system for what i need it for (the web and playing ghost racon)

Heya Onyx, tbh i think youve made a smart move, imo barebones units still dont provide enough power and have too many heating problems. in my shuttle box i had an xp2600 (thoughbred core) but the damn thing kept getting too hot ( and that was with a real expensive thermalright heatsink) im sure it would be even worse on a thunderbird core. i had to resort to putting a duron 1800 into it to make it stable which you probably know is very poor processor! also you have the problem that youve only got one PCI slot and one agp slot. so your system will be full by the time you get a decent gfx card and soundcard in there. I somtimes take my shuttlebox to Lan parties, its good for that and playing DVDs,divx's etc but not really that good as a gaming machine I also had problem initially getting it to run my radeon 9700pro i bought for it. psu just didnt provide enough juice had to resort to a less powerful 9600pro (which doesnt use extra power from psu) so all in all i guess you could say i dont rate them all that well. i wish i would have bought one of these new microatx cube cases instead. www.antec-inc.com/us/pro_details_enclosure.php?ProdID=15130
