Anyone else shocked at the lack of Master System Apparel, t-shirts and clothing available. There seems to be a pretty good choice for Mega Drive out there from the likes of Zavvi etc and even The Sega EU Shop but Master System seems to get overlooked. I realise the Megadrive was a more popular system so of course it'll have a larger following but there should still be more choice out there for the SMS imo.
Has anyone ever thought about drawing some designs to print up or maybe there is a website I've missed.?

I've often wondered this myself. Given the boom in retro/nerd culture you would think that Sega would have made more of an effort to mine their history in general. Even their recent Sega 60 stuff has seemed half baked. Sure the Master System wasn't massively popular, but that doesn't mean there isn't an audience out there.

I think the problem is that the Master System wasn't as popular in the US, so it's basic marketing. Choose the product that has the best marketing possibilities, which is why Mega Drive/Genesis & Dreamcast are always the ones that get prioritized.
Which is both a bit sad and boring going back to the same well again and again.

I assume they are all unofficial, but they do give Sega an example of what they could be doing. It's certainly true that the Mega Drive/Genesis is Sega's only really successful platform, but I believe their over reliance on the same games/properties from that generation has contributed to the current financial and creative differences. The DreamCast is weird since it does have some callbacks, but I don't think it was as successful worldwide as the Master System. Things have gotten better with the re-introduction or Panzer Dragoon, Alex Kidd, Wonder Boy and Streets of Rage, but Sega have a huge history that is massively underused. As an example, Sega's Fighter's MegaMix could have been the start of an interesting franchise mashup, but it was never followed up on. Nintendo would of course step into that space with Super Smash Bros. and show just how big a crossover fighter could be. I guess what I'm saying is the over reliance on Sonic and the Mega Drive stuff becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Eventually that is all anyone will know of Sega since they have done little to show them otherwise.

What a great share. Thank you. I didn't think to look on Red Bubble and I only used it last year for the wife's birthday. Will definitely have a good look through these. Thanks again

Yeah I know what you mean with this, they did try to put out some original content over the years, some decent, but other stuff seems to be half-arsed. I was really disappointed to play Sonic Forces on the Switch for example after how much I had enjoyed Sonic Generations. I've lost count of how many times I've purchased "Megadrive Classics Collection" on various platforms through the years, including the Megadrive Mini, but attempts to revive older franchisees have been lacking in the effort department thinking all the way back to early PS2 days. Altered Beast, Shinobi, Golden Axe Beast Rider come to mind. But even then they could pull off the occasional masterpiece like Outrun and Outrun Coast2Coast, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Headhunter etc. To be honest, there hasn't been of the new stuff that's held any attention. Maybe I'm just not as intune these days, there is so much choice out there just now. What I really wanted all along though was to be able to play arcade perfect conversions of classic games rather than Megadrive versions. Sega's arcade back-catalogue is criminally underutilised. I know there are technical challenges to providing fans with decent versions of these games, but it's a sad state of affairs when the only way to play these games properly is illegally on Retropie or Pandoras Box.

Sega's really have squandered their arcade heritage. There are plenty of great Mega Drive ports, but that doesn't mean the originals shouldn't see home releases too. That's what made the Switch version of Virtua Racing such a pleasant surprise.

You would think it wouldn't be that hard to get a pack of arcade games on a release, seeing as they have a good relationship with M2 that makes great conversions/ports. Feels like something that would fit well with the 60 year anniversary, a heritage arcade pack. Or a chronological pack starting with some early arcade games and then pick some games per each console. That would take much more work to do, to emulate each system, but would be far from impossible and would be fitting for the occasion.

It's funny how you get interesting/unusual games popping up occasionally and yet MD Sonic 1 and Altered Beast are on everything.
The Sega Ages line on Switch was interesting, but so slow to release anything that it was hard to get excited about the drip-feeding of titles mostly seen very recently.
The Mega Drive collection on PS360 meanwhile has Congo Bongo, Zaxxon and a bunch of SMS games. That's what I'd rather they do - volumes of collections where you know enough titles to warrant the purchase but there's plenty of obscurities to discover. But no, they re-released that collection recently with a lot of the interesting stuff stripped out.
It's not just Sega either. Nintendo's NES and SNES titles with Switch Online come along at a glacial pace. Hamster's Arcade Archives are really churning out a good mix of classic and obscure old arcade games but even then at £6 a pop, it's not exactly something a casual fan is going to commit to.
I'd rather see the older IPs re-released in a comprehensive collection than getting new games in a series though. Sega's sat on loads of great/interesting games and only a handful (like Sega Rally, Scud Race) are blocked by licensing. Revenge of Death Adder and Scramble Spirits showed up recently - on different overpriced mini consoles. It can't be hard to toss together a few collections in basic emulation in 2021, surely?

Reminds me of SEGA Forever, their mobile campaign which made a big deal that they were going to release games from all systems. That made me really hyped for the service and looking forward to each release waiting for an SMS game. Well they ended up releasing 25 Mega Drive games, 1 arcade, 1 SEGA CD & 1 Dreamcast game. Of course grateful that anything was released (and it was free with ads), but it gets frustrating when they get your hopes up and then just release mostly the same old stuff for the umpteenth time.
