Have seen a fair few homebrew and ROM based games on eBay recently and in curious/interested how they get the games on a cartridge??? I've seen Alex Kidd 2, Land Of Illusion, Bruce Lee and even a physical of Q-bert. How do you get a game on a cartridge, where do you buy the cartridge label stickers, how do you get the box art. Its fascinating to me.
Cheers all. Oli.

I think there are a small (but increasingly large) number of people making them. This was always some people's concerns that people would start selling off reproduction games of rarer/prototype games as originals.
I know 2Minds makes their own PCBS, and are focused on releasing homebrew titles so these are a bit more professional than the these people who are who are just small-scale bootleggers that essentially soldering a EPROM into a board with a mapper chip (like afterburner or similar).
The difference will always be in the amount of care given to making a quality product. I don't yet see SMS becoming like the Megadrive (look on aliexpress and you'll see hundreds of copies of games for sale) but with todays price hikes, SMS might become profitable for large scale bootleggers in the future.
There are some homebrew games I would love to get physical copies of, and in the case of 2minds, the cost is justified. I don't want to encourage these eBay sellers on the other hand.

That's a fair comment mate. I don't think anyone wants to see prices increase anymore, on the other hand I don't think anyone wants cheap imitations like you can find on eBay for other systems. I guess I am showing an interest specifically in homebrews that I imagine most of the guys on this forum know about. I saw an eBay listing recently for an SMS physical cart for Legend of Illusion (posted on my twitter too) and in the background the person had some really cool boxes which sparked my interest. See eBay listing with said photo's here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Legend-of-illusion-for-the-Sega-Master-System-NEW/233927059333?hash=item367723a785:g:X~gAAOSwFnJgSie2I wonder how they got so many cool copies of homebrew games? Maybe they just know how to get them onto a cartridge and made all the box art themselves. Pretty talented if that's the case.

I was intrigued myself, getting the game on the cart is in my opinion the most difficult bit (as I couldn’t do that myself), gg to ms conversions look a right pain in the rear to do. Artwork is probably easier, I nearly made myself a custom hang on card case label for a laugh, not paying 4 figures when I can make my own with a totally different parody image. Manuals I pretty much worked out how to do, i know a bit about book formatting so it’s all the same principles

Parody covers would be a laugh. NinjaBearHug (Stew) shared something on Twitter the other day of a copy of the ninja cover art someone on the forum did for him. It looked class!
Also if you haven't seen his vids on YT check them out.
