As the thread title says, I have been thinking and wondering, of all the modern games, whether for PlayStation, XBox, Switch, iPad etc. what ones do you think could work best with a Master System port? Any that spring to mind? Crossy Road (Frogger on drugs) could be good I reckon, and I'd love to play an 8-Bit Goat Simulator! š¤£

Well, have to mention Cuphead as the creators have said that it's one of their dreams to make an SMS port of the game. I don't know why this game popped in my head, but Sky Force Anniversary with its upgrade system would be an easy and very doable port IMO. A Minecraft-esque or Animal Crossing-esque game would be fun and interesting to see how it could/would work on the SMS. And finally, Picross games, gimme all the Picross games on the system.

Really the creator's of Cuphead are SMS fans? That's pretty cool. Picross is a good pick and should actually run fine since it's a pretty straightforward game. Similar to Animal Crossing I would like to see Stardew Valley/Story of Seasons. The Game Boy had simplified Harvest Moon ports, but I think the SMS could do better than that.

I do like Cuphead, but I'm really rubbish at it. I'd love to have seen something like Terraria attempted on the SMS. No where near the same depth obviously, but with the survival / building and exploration elements. It could have been awesome

I've never actually played Cuphead, but it looks really cool. I'm sure I'd suck at it though.

Really the creator's of Cuphead are SMS fans? That's pretty cool. Yeah, apparently it was their first console and the reason they became gamers (and presumably the reason they became game developers). www.anaitgames.com/entrevistas/cuphead-xbox-one-pc-studio-mdhr-interview-englishWould be really cool if they ever did end up releasing an SMS port of Cuphead. Don't know how good their Z80 Assembly coding knowledge is. I have a gut feeling that they might have to compromise and do SMS-esque graphics on a demake version on PC.

That's pretty cool alright. You often hear about developers growing up with an NES, but not the SMS.
I'm sure they could create a decent shooter, after all games like Power Strike already exist, but I think the main draw to Cuphead is the visuals and that would be hard to capture on the SMS.

Iād say super meat boy would be a good one to make a homebrew of. Or a rocket league, guessing would be like speedball crossed with micro machines. Goat simulator would also be awesome š
