What would be some games you would recommend for a 4 year old? He's figuring out games so he does decent but still working on them. I have Sonic the Hedgehog which I considered letting him play but if a game is too hard he doesn't want to play. I guess I am looking for easy games. Thanks in advance!

Rampage Double Dragon Co-op games are always good.

Castle of Illusion is pretty easy to play and it has a nice practice mode. Dynamite Dux is fairly easy and forgiving to begin with. You could probably say the same for Shinobi. Tom and Jerry: The Movie is pretty kid-friendly.

If it not absolute should be SMS games I Can recommend vtec smile game consol There are a lot of child frindly games and the control pad is bigger. My own kids (3y and 5y) pragtice on it, so they Can learn the basic game skills 😉 and they love it

Thanks everyone. I have a few of those games so maybe I will let him try those. I forgot about Tom and Jerry. I have played it and enjoyed it. Guess I need to buy it.
I'm trying to focus on SMS. He has a 2DS and played that enough until he began to figure out games. He tried Sonic on Megadrive but didn't like that one. I popped in a Tiny Toons game and he did much better. I figured I wanted to go back a step and allow him to play SMS instead. It has such an amazing library. He doesn't try to win he just plays and has fun. Easy and fun are the main factors for him.
I have Castle of Illusion ordered and even though I own Land I want to wait and maybe let him try Castle first.

That was actually a good question, watching master system games on YouTube would help here and I hope you find something. Sonic is always a good one but Mickey Mouse may be a little advanced so I would lean towards The Smufs, Tazmania and Dynamite Dux which plays quite well but can suffer with sprite flicker.

I wouldn't worry about games being too hard, I couldn't have been much older when I was a kid playing games in the arcades on holiday in the mid 80s - not sure I ever got past the first level in anything.
We had a ZX Spectrum and some fairly simplistic games at home which, again, I could never get too far in.
But at a young age it's the imagination factor - anything with aircraft or spaceships I loved, purely because I was "flying" it. So I'd say take games which feature something they enjoy and let them have a go!

When mine was that age sonic the hedgehog was definitely one I let him play... was painful watching him get to grips with jumping and moving at the same time but I think most games take some patience.
You forget how hard a "simple" game is for young gamers and I'm sure they are less patient then we were as kids!

I'd say Enduro Racer, it's non-violent, teaches them eye-hand coordination and it's a quick and easy game.
