I saw this on Digitpress and had to post it here : Its crazy, Sega wanted you to cut up the inserts of three new sms games just so you get $5 back, not worth it at all! I wonder if anyone was crazy enough to do it?

LOL That would be like going to the NHS for a kidney transplant but having to donate your lungs to do so!
Still, i bet someone out there did it

They were doing similar promotions a lot more recently than that - I've got a couple of 32X games that have been mutilated by someone cutting the UPC code out of the box, presumably for a similar type of offer :/

Yeah that's was a crappy way of them to give discounts. They could have better added a card or something. Still i think quite some people did it cause who doesn't want their money partially refunded.

That is a pretty stupid offer, for a measly $5 off why bother?

that doesnt even make sence?!?! i thought it was 2 options at first for getting $5 off but its a 2 step guide, so let me get this right....
cut out the bar code from a game and post it to them with the newsletter coupon and original recipt for the game (so A) you havnt stole the game and B) you dont try and con them out of multiple $5 off's) then once you get your $5 coupon back.. you buy phantasy star ok? no not ok.... for some reason they then want you to cut that barcode out aswell and send it plus the recipt?!?!?! are they on crack?

Yeah it seems, it costs you more to send the stuff then what you receive back. Not to mention the efford you have to make going to PO and so. Plain insanity!

if the offer was to get some kind of limited edition version only available with a couple of barcodes and the coupon then that might not be so bad but whats the use in saving £2.50?
can somone explain some logic behind them wanting the phantasy star bar code and receipt aswell?

I guess they wanted to verify how many would have sold and or how many people would have been interested in discount actions like this.
