I sold off my SMS and games, and stopped coming to the forum. I have been busy being a dad of two and what not. I thought about the SMS at timea...but it wasn't until today I knew I needed to re-buy.
I saw a complete SMS (though the top is torn off...boo), boxed Phaser...boxes 3D Glasses...boxed Sega Control Stick...all for $150!!!
Guess who bought it? I also re-bought some games (AKIMW) was still there. This model has Hang On built in with Safari Hunt...needless to say I am VERY happy.
What got me was a local arcade that is pay $10, play all day on free play...after lots of 80s and 90s gaming goodness, I yearned for the older games. My NES still sucks cause of Pin Connector...but SMS is back in my life and ready to deliver some goodness.
Part of me regrets selling off my stuff...but I feel I got a sweet deal and a lot more awesomeness. Granted I have a lot of games to re-buy, but no rush for me. I don't get to play as much anyways, but I do try.
I plan on being active in the forums again...and THIS time, the SMS is here to stay!

Welcome back! I too sold off my sms collection a few years ago (Being a grown up sucks sometimes) but as soon as I was able I started collecting again. I was quite surprised how much more things cost 2nd time around (UK) Is it the same for you guys in the US I wonder?

Not sure...I got in to it a couple years ago. They seem stable around where I live...but SMS stuff is rare to see sadly. Wish they had Double Dragon...I do miss that game a lot!

Thanks everyone! I ordered my first import, Land of Illusion. I played on the emulator and enjoyed it alot...but I want the real deal. I spent about $23 total, which I guess isn't bad. CIB and coming from UK...either way I am happy as heck!

You may want to consider getting a Master Everdrive instead of re-buying all your old games. They cost about £60 and they run 99.9% of SMS/SG-1000 games without issue.

I prefer physical. I understand what you are saying..this isn't the first time (or forum) to recommend an Everdrive to me.
If I do NOT own a system, then I go emulation route...though that is rare as I prefer trying to own the game. I did emulation after I sold off my stuff a while back with the SMS, and I was able to test a lot of games. I just enjoy CIB games, and popping them in to the system. I do appreciate the recommendation, however.
