Pretty cool. Does he provide any details elsewhere about how he made it? Did he just stuff the guts of a tv-out modded Game Gear into an SMS shell?

Looking at his past videos he never seems to responds to comments or respond in any way. Looks like we will never know

It looks like a TV modded GG stuffed into a Master System's empty space. The number of wires coming out of the back suggest they have independent power, video and sound hookups. Notice that the TV is connected to the GG on "Video 2" and the SMS on "Video 4". Also the SMS power light is only on in SMS mode. Presumably just the controllers are shared, I guess it doesn't hurt to have the two systems connected at that point, particularly if only one is turned on at a time.
It would be more awesome to share the power (should be easy, but you might overload it if both systems are powered on), video outputs (hard, maybe stuff an RGB SCART auto switcher in there) and then have the system detect which console to power up based on which cartridge is present (hard).

I thought it was a nice touch with him adding a Start button to the controller.

It seemed to work with carts in both slots.... Hmm interesting
I think they have done things the way they have because maxim's idea (better) was too difficult for them or they didn't think it was possible

You could stuff a NES in there the same way and call it an SMS with a NES cart slot (assuming there was enough space). Old consoles tend to have lots of empty space (by modern standards, even the GG has lots of unused space inside) so you can do this sort of thing. You could probably fit a GG, MD3 and SMS2 inside an original SMS1 case (cart slot alignment notwithstanding).

Well, it's what I expected. The alternative would be to put the consolised GG in a case of its own.

Well, it's what I expected. The alternative would be to put the consolised GG in a case of its own. same guy has done one of those as well, mainly as display models. He has said he isnt going to make more and sell them, this model would have to retail about £500 and a consolised gg about £300 apparently. Its a no from me, I would much rather have seen an md running gg roms through an everdrive, however I don't think it would be possible without individual roms being modified.
