I really wanted that battleships! It used to be advertised on tv on saturday mornings, I just got the bog standard one though lol yeah it would have been a cool additional present , but it couldn't live up to the levels of expectation that a main present brings , I got Christmas and boxing day out of it before it packed in , mostly playing against the computer as nobody really wanted to play 2 player with me lol .

I remember it was about 1990-1992 Stand there in the toy store, and look up at this Sega Master System and Sega Mega drive, what to choose?? All my money goes to mega drive and no games , or master system with 2 games and one Bild in. It was a huge decision for a kid , but it ended up with the sms 😊(also the best choice)

Guessing mine was either late 1986 or early 1987. My grandparents asked me what I wanted while they were away on vacation visiting family in the US and I said "Sega Master System" without fail.
Was the 1.0 system with Hang On/Safari Hunt. They also brought back Transbot and World Grand Prix.
I didn't know until years later that the Maze Game was built in too.

I saved up and bought my SMS 2 with Sonic built in late on in its life -back in the summer of 1993 from the now defunct UK Electrical Shop Comet. I paid £60 for it and then realised it was £50 everywhere else! Lucky for me by then most titles I picked up were around the £10 mark and I continued buying new games for it well into 1997...
