i've played a fair few homebrew games on the sms- bless you master everdrive. more of the same would be great for me I just looked up master everdrive. Cool! I know it will play homebrew titles but will iit play anything SMS on a North American console, like Japanese, PAL and the 3D games? It will definitely do pal, 3d I think so but I am partially blind so 3d is lost on me. Japanese I think it will but I haven't tried any. It plays Brazilian too. Use with a ms2 for best results

Now that you mention it, I do not think Sega Master System had any "Horror" titles. There may have been, but I am unaware of anything outside of Ghost House. There are Bram Stokers Dracula (which has great music for a horror game, very spooky) and Master of Darkness, which has a great atmosphere. Alien 3 has horror as a sub-genre, but is more an action title. But real survival horror games.. I think it wasn´t the right time in the 90´s to try it out on the Master System. I am still dreaming of a super scary survival horror game with ugly and brutal monsters/killers, genre related a mix between the Super NES´ Clock Tower and Silent Hill 2. It could be amazing in 8 bit if it´s good programmed. Yes, and I think here one could take advantage of the system's limitations. Remember how the first Alien movie was the scariest because you never got to see the alien all that much, just evidence of; pointers to and just the briefest flashes of it here and there. Concentrating on atmospherics, mood and sound design, I believe this could be achieved on the SMS. Yes it could. Today, (hobby/homebrew)programmers know the systems very well. At the moment, there is a venezuelan guy who is reprogramming Wolfenstein 3D as a homebrew for the Mega Drive, with outstanding results (the framerate, just wow). Here it goes to the thread on spritesmind: click

So many people call Germany still nazis, but to be honest.. when I get this game in cart form maybe, I will play it just to kill that butthole with the little beard, even it´s just a virtual form of him But I feel respect for Gasega (the programmer here) for his awesome skills.

Honestly, I think Germany is the least of our worries these days. I'm thinking more of the way police in general are behaving in the last decade. Hands up, don't shoot! I can't breathe! I'd like to say the Canada is the kinder, gentler alternative but if you have a prosthetic leg and come here to protest the dominance of the rich over the poor and that you don't like the fact that bankers are now running the world they will literally take your prosthetic leg off and try to beat you with it. True story, sadly. Or how about the literally thousands of women and children that Israel is willing to kill and consider collateral damage in their squabble over a strip of land that was supposedly resolved long ago. Clearly some weird inversion of morality has occurred. I'm not Islamic or Jewish, so I have no dog in that fight. It's just my opinion as an outside observer, but when you're willing to let a bad means be justified by any sort of ends you're in danger of becoming a nazi, if you haven't already. I'm old enough to have had a grandfather who actually died fighting nazis and I think that were he alive he might be asking if it was worth it given the current state of the world. No, I'm not really worried about nazis from Germany these days, bro. Guten Tag!

I think I know what Santa's bringing me this year now Hey, I can get one of these for $85 shipped from Stone Age Gamer. I just thought I would check with you to see if that's a good price or if you know of a better. Thanks for turning me on to this!

I wish there had been SMS versions of some of Sega's arcade hits of the early 80s. The SMS should be capable of a pretty accurate rendition of the Zaxxon board arcade games - Zaxxon, Super Zaxxon, Future Spy, Congo Bongo (although the screen aspect ratio is different). Also, early racers like Monaco GP and the VCO games - Turbo, Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom, and Sub-Roc 3D (obviously these have sprite scaling that couldn't be achieved on the SMS, but aside from that the system could probably handle a decent conversion). Since these games are all significant titles in Sega's arcade history, I'd love to see them brought to the SMS via homebrew. Of course, it's all just a pipe dream, because there are relatively few homebrew developers and they have their own visions.

A Sega Arcade Collection would be awesome! I'd be happy with just Turbo and Zaxxon!

That 3D mech game hasn't got a lot on show other than a glorified tech demo thus far. The SMS homebrew port of MUSHA Aleste, what happened with that?
I'd like to see some classic Toaplan shooters. The NES got fairly naff ports of Twin Cobra and Flying Shark. Based on Power Strike and Scramble Spirits, I reckon the SMS could do them justice.
Might have a nose at what's necessary myself one day... but not while I'm in a job which involves brain-melting PL/SQL on a regular basis.
