Glad you like it, Gordman! That 1990 Video Game Buyers Guide was published by Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM), which I think was the best of the U.S. game magazines. They always gave a good amount of coverage to the SMS even though it didn't sell as well in the States. It's pretty interesting reading back through those old issues.
As it happens, Gordman was my secret Santa too! I don't have a way to photograph the gifts, but he got me my first European carts - Sega Chess, a cartridge that I have long been fascinated with (although it's been so long since I've played chess regularly, I expect the computer to beat me quite a bit). And Land of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse, which is now sitting happily next to its prequel. Plus some surprise GTA V stickers and a killer Borderlands 2 poster! Thank you, Gordman! It was quite fun waiting with anticipation for the big day to open all the presents.

EGM was one of my favorite magazines too. That and Gamepro were the 2 that I consistently read cause of the all around coverage. Looks like everyone was happy with the 8bit secret Santa. Im already looking forward to 2014's list! Oh and Im jealous of that Blade Eagle!
