Hello,
I am not sure this is the right forum to ask this as I am new here as of today...
What software(s) can we use to compose sms music? Is there an audio composition emulator of sorts?
(I am interested in the drum beats and sounds that we hear in the North American Sega Master System games, not the Japanese even though it is considered more advanced)
Thanks so much! Danny

You can compose music using Mod2PSG2, various MIDI convertors, XPMCK, and various others. If all you want is some samples then I suggest you grab some VGM files and Winamp and play with the channel controls.

Thank you, Maxim. Do you know of a composer for Mac? I searched but could not find one.

XPMCK might build from source for you, else you'll need to virtualise Windows.
