Memory is hazy but I don't think you can dig to it, think you have to get to it from the side. I've got the game paused and 7 lives remaining, I will go through it all again and see if there's another way to the milk.
If that doesn't work it looks like I will need to reset the game and start again.
I don't recall this happening any other time, so it might be a weird isolated incident that will hopefully fix itself after a reset.

Here's the scenario before the bug kicks in. I can't see any other way of getting to the milk. From where I currently am in the screenshot above: - I need to dig down into the orange blocks - Drop down and dig left through the red block - Dig up into yellow blocks - Maybe if I leave that orange block in place I will be able to climb up it and get to the milk...

Ah yes, now I remember that part. As it's best to walk as much and dig as little as possible, I never dug away the orange block so haven't come across that problem.

Yeah, not sure why I dug that orange block - anyhow I got passed that bit by leaving the orange block intact and PASSED THE GAME - YES! High Score: 22631 - game complete What a fun little game, definitely got my monies worth and it was great to be able to play a new game on real hardware. Brilliant. Now I can rest. Thanks Aypok & PlayGeneration!

Well done Private Joker and Frankfjs! I'm glad to see people playing the game and not just putting it on a shelf I'm impressed you guys have managed to finish the game, I had wondered if it was too hard without the help of a level map, it had never even occurred to me to remember where the traps are using the depth meter.

Thanks! The depth was the first thing I used to remember how long it was to the next milk bottle. Soon, the levels were too long to just care about milk so I had to put down the TNT and other traps as well. Evil engineering though, you two! What I've been looking for, but haven't found yet, is hidden messages in the blocks construction. Did you hide something in the color scheme? Some kind of text/symbol? I saw an arrow pointing up a couple of times and one time, I'm sure I saw a question mark, but then again, if you're looking for symbols in the clouds, you're bound to see something...

I think the difficulty level is spot on.
Any easier and it would have been boring as I would have finished the game too quickly, any more difficult and it would have become too frustrating - unless you implemented a password/save feature for level resuming although this probably wouldn't work well with this style of game.
I did notice a clue or two here and there regarding the blocks and their colouring. For example, there's a bit in one of the later stages with a blind drop and multiple paths to take, the correct path has a yellow block and all other blocks are red and lead to being trapped.
My only criticism if you ever wanted to rework the game or make a part two is perhaps some more varied music. Also, the music seemed a little off time in parts, not sure why. Lastly, the controls seemed a bit stiff at times, occasionally I wasn't able to get Chan to move where I wanted despite pressing the right buttons - he just seemed a little stiff/unresponsive.
All up a fantastic effort and result, it's a great game. Love the attention to detail regarding the packaging and in my mind this was money well spent. I didn't buy the game for bragging rights or to eBay it off at a later stage at a highly inflated price, I bought it to play and it was well worth it!

It would be a good feature if the game had say 20 levels and the length was a bit more gradual, but I like it the way it as. Just like you said, the difficulty is great for me. You don't get trapped on all red blocks, but the yellow one is the fastest route. Music, didn't really bother me but it won't stick around either. I'm guessing that coding music on a Master System isn't the easiest... Controls, I didn't experience that actually. Sure, when you get frustrated, you'd blame the controls quite often but I know that every time he dug wrong or walked wrong, it was me not pushing right. I'd buy the sequel instantly!

You know what what be a good idea for a sequel, a 2 player mode! You could do a cooperative 2 player mode as well as a battle mode.

You can call Chan´s partner Digger Lee or something ;D ;D ;D Playgen hat uploaded this one two months ago: It´s Digger Ball ;D Paul said, it will not be a cart release. But I think it would be a good mini game if he would release another Digger Chan game!

I keep getting to a depth of around 480 on level 8 and run out of milk! One of these days Digger Chan... One of these days!

Finally done it. I think the lower the score the better it should be, because you don't lose the level points when you die. Therefore, the maximum score would be to get to level 8, get right to the end and wait for the milk to run out and rinse and repeat until you are on your last life.

Congratz! About the score, you have a valid point, but then there are a lot of games where you can't grind out respawning enemies to get max points either and you can't really see which points were gained on loosing a life and which ones are gained on digging more blocks.

True but if you dig big blocks that are all together you get a higher score and that is also an easier route! If you have a low score you have not died and you haven't hit many big sets of blocks i.e. taken a stupid / hard route
