I think Bock has kiosk demo (display) card versions of F-16 Fighting Falcon, Super Tennis and TransBot.

A number of cartridges printed in the early run of Monster Land can be found with the label reading "Super Wonder Boy Super Monster Land." The mistake made by the distributing team was that in Japan Wonder Boy was originally released for the SG-1000, and thus when released for the Mark III in an updated format, though essentially the same game, it was titled Super Wonder Boy to mark the difference between the two, similar in a sense to Castlevania for the NES and Super Castlevania for the SNES, though these are totally diferent titles. Due to this issue, early runs of the cartridge will include super in the title due to a simple mistake on the part of the design team. Eventually it was corrected, but some collectors mistakenly assume this is a rarer variation, which is far from true. "Super" was held for the series throughout its life in Japan, but would not appear again on the Master System in any form.Source: www.smstributes.co.uk/view_page.asp?articleid=64 Thanks for pointing that out. Some interesting mistakes in the flyer. On Page 3 of the Sega for the 90's thing, the name Alex Kidd in Shinobi World "Shinobi II" I thought that was strange as well, what is IM 2 from the same page? I think Bock has kiosk demo (display) card versions of F-16 Fighting Falcon, Super Tennis and TransBot. Thank you. By the way does anyone want to write up some notes for the kiosk games? I just ask that the notes be brief and to the point. I know these games aren't only US but I remember playing on these in stores and wanted to include the most likely games you would see here. Some questions I'd have about them is are they all identical? Meaning if you had the same demo game from the US and Europe or where ever, they would be identical? I guess this question goes for the unit itself, 50hz, 60hz?

I thought that was strange as well, what is IM 2 from the same page? I'm pretty sure that's Impossible Mission II The first game was released on the Master System, so i guess there were plans to release the sequel too (Originaly released in 1988 on the usual suspects of home computers and in 1989 for the NES) That's a screenshot from the game before it became Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, it was titles 'Shinobi Kid' instead. If you notice, that's not Alex in the screenshot. I haven't noticed that. But wasn't Cyber Shinobi called Shinobi Part II? That came also out in 1990 but possibly after the Flyer? Or did they just botched it completely?

Yeah its mentioned on the games title screen: They probably called it Shinobi II while it was in development, and changed it to Cyber Shinobi later, perhaps when realising it wasn't a deserving direct sequel.

The whole Shinobi thing is kinda weird. I mean Revenge of Shinobi came in 1989 and while it was called Super Shinobi in Japan, it basically was the second game. Than came Cyber Shinobi proclaiming to be Shinobi II - the question is why Sega would release the second part of a popular franchise on a (mostly) dying console. In between there also was Shadow Dancer. And on the Game Gear we had Shinobi and Shinobi II, two completely different games to the rest of the sequels. You know the Chronologicaly confused Videos from the Angry Video Game Nerd? Shinobi would confuse him to death ;D

Mexico, like Canada, saw mostly North American releases, but I think there are a few games that were released in Canda only, the same goes with Mexico. The PAL format for the most part appears not supported in Mexico. FYI.

That whole Shinobi thing is confusing! I entered that stuff like this. Last minute title changesShinobi II / The Cyber Shinobi - Shown in Sega for 90's hand out, neither released in the US Shinobi Kid / Alex Kidd in Shinobi World World War 3-D / Missile Defense 3-D - Shown in 1987 catalog Help add or add info please! Is that the way it should be? Where is "Shinobi Kidd" seen? I think I've read you guys talking about that somewhere before. Thanks, I'm dreading looking through all my games for SM and (R) I have a separate pile of games made in Hong Kong or Taiwan so that will be easy at least. That reminds me I have a plastic case variation, it has a small tab that holds the hang tab flat. I think it came with my base unit set which was made in Taiwan. Yeah, can you tell us more about Mexico? Did they have just US games or others? I'd be interested in exclusives as well.

Might seem like I'm slacking here but I've been working on scans of the Sega Newsletters. I think I finally got through a major problem but still have a long way to go with finishing these. I was going to scan and add all the re-release games next but got sidetracked on the Newsletters. I still plan to add the minor game variations at some point.

I think would be nice to link this thread in Re-release section or link every game to its photo. Unfortunately imageshack has deleted Enduro Racer individual photo. Maybe grolt/you should re-upload them to be safe, at least the rest...

I was planning to add some scans of the inserts, carts and books as well so that section will be updated sometime soon. The Newsletters are giving me more problems than I would have thought so maybe I'll stop with those and finish them later. Edit: Added some stuff in the last week or so.
