Hey guys!
Greetings from Virginia. My name is Andrew and I am a 22 year old college student about to join the real world. I have been collecting old games for a while, but just recently got into Sega Master system. It is my new found love. Recently I have been solely buying SMS and have neglected my other consoles. I'm joining this forum to learn more about games, buy, sell, trade, and maybe do a few reviews.
My favorite types of games are action platformers. Alex kid in Shinobi world, ninja gaiden, gouls in ghosts, wonder boy III, and Sonic 2 are some of the games I've been playing recently. Feel free to send me any recommendations. I'm not too knowledgeable about the SMS, but nevertheless I look forward to posting some new threads.

Welcome! If you are looking for other platformers that are pretty good, Asterisk and shinobi are pretty awesome. If you are into RPGs, Phantasy Star is wicked.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Zavias, thanks for the suggestions. I am definitely looking in to importing Asterisk. Also, I just picked up Phantasy Star last week and will start that as soon as I finished earthbound.. I can only handle one RPG at a time.
I have a good chunk of the American library and am very interested in any platformers released in Europe. As for European releases all I currently own sonic 1, 2, chaos, Ninja Gaiden, and Land of illusion. Please send all recommendations my way!

Welcome aboard fellow Virginian.
As far as platformers you haven't already listed go, I'd suggest giving Psycho Fox a try. Quest for the Shaven Yak is surprisingly good as well.

Welcome to the forums!
It sounds like you already have a good set of games for the system. There are a lot of good titles in the Wonder Boy, Sonic, Alex Kidd and Disney franchises. If you like Alex Kidd in Shinobi World you will probably like the original Shinobi too. Psycho Fox, Zillion and Chuck Rock II may also be worth a shot.

I'd suggest giving Psycho Fox a try. Quest for the Shaven Yak is surprisingly good as well. Thanks man. I've been looking into getting Psycho Fox and can't find it for under 25. I would have never guessed Shaven Yak would be worth checking out. I'm going to have to take your word for it, I always loved that show when I was younger. I have 3 Ren and Stimpy games on the SNES and those games are less than desirable. If you like Alex Kidd in Shinobi World you will probably like the original Shinobi too. Psycho Fox, Zillion and Chuck Rock II may also be worth a shot. Pretty solid suggestions. I own the original Shinobi and love it. Chuck Rock II looks interesting. I've never played the series, but I love most any caveman platformer I've played (surprisingly there are tons of these).

Welcome to the board! *Chants one-of-us! one-of-us!* Some of the better action plattformers have already been mentioned, but I would like to give some love to Kenseiden & Teddy Boy aswell. I think both are easy to find and especially Teddy Boy should be cheap as hell.

Thanks batman, It's Interesting that you would recommend Teddy boy and Kenseiden. You don't like to follow the crowd do you? I have never played Teddy boy, but seen it for dirt cheap around some local shops (I believe the NTSC version is card only?). I thought everyone hated that game.. But hey ill pick it up and see for myself if you say so. As for Kenseiden I own it, but have not played it more than 20 minutes. I wasn't impress at first glance but may have to go back and give it a legitimate shot.

Hehe, yeah I don't like to follow the masses But mostly they are nostalgic picks. Neither is a perfect game. Teddy Boy is a pure arcade port, so not much substance, but atleast for me it feels very much SEGA-esque. The bright colors, the catchy (or annoying) music & the quirky japanese feel of it. Which is kind of why I recommended it and that it's cheap so even if you don't like the game, you wont' feel robbed by my recommendation

There are two play N' Trades out here. One in Carry Town and one in Midlothian. The Midlothian one had a good SMS stock but someone cleaned it out. I got my saturn from them though, they know there stuff pretty well.
