Can I do anything to set up email notifications when I get a PM? Cant find an option. Other forums have it and its very handy if you havent had chance to log in for a few days.
Thanks

I was looking for that option on the forum the other day, doesn't look like it supports email notification sadly.

Bummer.
Seems odd, I think every other forum I am a member of has pm notifications, must be about 10 forums, ironically the only place I get PMs is here usually!

Just looked in the admin section, nothing I can do there. There is an 'email all' function, but obviously that doesn't apply here. You'd think it would be something they'd have on Proboards. Bad form.

I get email notifications when I get a pm.
Try selecting "opt-in" to mass emails under your account preferences... I think that might do the trick.

I don't get emails on PMs either, and I have "opt-in" selected.

You're right zavias.
Found it... go to your pm inbox then click preferences and you'll see notification options.

You can do it. And someone asks this question every year. :) I think I made screenshots for my last guide on how to do it, but I'm too lazy to search. :P
Go to your private messages page and click on "Preferences" at the top-right of the white bar. Change "Do you wish to have an email sent to you when a Personal Message is received?" from "No" to "Yes", then click "Save Preferences".

Hmm, aside from this topic - this forum software is pretty ancient compared to what I'm used to elsewhere.

Hmm, aside from this topic - this forum software is pretty ancient compared to what I'm used to elsewhere. I have to admit that I do prefer phpBB, as used pretty-much everywhere else on the interwebs. However, this is a hosted solution, so the actual code is being kept up-to-date (I've been noticing small changes). But, in terms of look and feel, yeah - this is looking a bit outdated. It works fine, though. And it's not like moving away from this software is particularly feasible...

That worked setting the preferences in the private messages area. the one thing I love about proboards is they have a really nice iphone app that I use all the time for this forum. I've used phpbb for personal forums and really like it as well. not sure if there is an iphone app for it though.
