www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12853I know some of you don't check SMS Power! (bad you!), so I'm making a post here. Maxim has announced details of this year's coding and music competitions. The closing date is 23:59 GMT on 26th March. It sounds like ages away, but it'll come up very fast. I've entered twice and had great fun - I would really recommend it. New to coding for the SMS? No problem; writing my first entry was how I gained most of my knowledge about the workings of the system. :) Sure, the resulting game was crap, but it was a fun process. Heh. Should you need help, there's Stan's guide on this site and Maxim's great tutorial over on SMS Power!. Plus, their forums have a wealth of invaluable info. Check them out. Yes, I'll try to get something entered this year. Not sure what, but I need to do something...

I check SMS power every once in a while, but I find that its always Game Gear stuff that I'm not really that interested in.

Once I get something started, that is... :) At the moment, I'm still trying to get my development environment for SMS stuff set up. Although I have finally fixed a few bugs in the tilemap editor I built a few years ago, so it's not off to a bad start. Hehe. I'll hopefully be releasing that in a day or two - it may be useful to others (or not - who knows). |

It would be nice to hear some feedback on a certain entry :) It would indeed. However, I think we need a quick disclaimer to say that we do not want people going over there and voting for a certain entry just because we mentioned it here. :) If you're going to vote, make sure you give everything a fair play before doing so. |

I tried all the games last night in the competition. I have to say i'm impressed by your game! It shows promise and I like how it reminds me of Action Fighter  I'm intrigued to see how the gears & nitros will work in the game. Looking forward to try later versions with those functions if you are going to continue working on it! |
