So there's Sonic 2, Batman Returns and Home Alone. Has anyone actually got the Home Alone master system II version? and any pictures of sonic2?

Heh sorry if my comment was misinterpreted. I originally didn't think at all it could even be a fake, its just that after reading the first comments suggesting that I asked myself "why is the picture (the first one you posted) such of bad quality?" (it's very blurry you can admit). It was not a "claim" or an "accusation" merely a thought (and you got to admit a legit thought at that point). I am the one who replied to ichigobankai with a link to Sonic 2 to suggest that Batman Returns probably exist the same way. As to who is who and collecting what since when I barely know about those things so forgive me if you feel I ignored your track record / seriousness / etc. Anyway its a pretty cool find you've got there, congrats It's cool Bock, my apologies for slightly jumping in on the wrong foot. You're a fellow collector I really respect, especially with your regular dumps & contributions to the scene, so I think I just got a bit flustered. Yeah, the first photo wasn't the best, I think my excitement took over the need for a decent image.

I'd much rather something like lemmings 2 the tribes, last action hero, cliffhanger, nba jam, robin hood, etc etc... Wouldn't we all

Not sure if its me your refering to me in that post but I got my copy of the Sonic 2 variant in a bundle of ebay and I did not randomly receive it. The game was clearly visible in the auction photograph and this was after looking at every Sonic 2 and bundle auction for about 18 months. I think Onyx was watching the same auction too but could not bid for one reason or another. Think I got the bundle for around £17 in the end. Haven't sold it yet though. Probably one of he rarest things in my collection. Congrats on your find Cauterize. I just know I'm going to be looking at all the Batman Returns auctions now for quite a while. No it wasnt you i was thinking. Think the username of the person was Outrun and i just remember the Outrun car being their avatar. You are thinking of 'Outrunner', I can't quite remember where he got it but he was quite new to collecting. Seems to have dropped off the radar now, think he was getting married and such If I remember right. Funny thing is he lived quite near to me and once came round to buy some of my spares. Now I have moved to the same small town as him, never seen him since though. (this almost sounds stalker-ish, it's just coincidence lol).

Hey guys - you might have already seen this, but I noticed today when I picked up the Batman Returns "Classic" version that the box picture on the back shows this SEGA Master System II variant rather than the original. www.smspower.org/Scans/BatmanReturns-SMS-EU-Classic

Incredible! It's good to finally see another one surface. Where did you find it? Nearly 5 years ago I saw a random post on instagram, I think I had searched a # tag. Anyway it showed an SMS II and a random pile of games, I spotted the spine of this game. The person who posted it had no other gaming related content so I was fairly sure it must be real. I contacted him but he said it was his Dads childhood games and his Dad had no interest in selling, even with my offer of also sending a replacement standard version. Anyway I saved the guys details and every year (roughly) since then I have dropped him a polite note to see if the stance on not selling had changed. A couple of years I had no reply at all but I continued and the latest try he got back to me. His circumstances had changed and there had been good reason he wasn't replying (I’m not going into details). He now actually owned his Dad’s old games and was happy to look at doing a deal. He had no knowledge of old games but we worked out a deal where we were both happy. I’m on a similar path with another rare variation, very similar story but different person.. hopefully it won’t take 5 years 🤣

I'm glad it worked out. Your determination to continue hunting these variations down is so impressive! Fingers crossed this other variation works out. I can't imagine there's much left you haven't got?

Amazing that these variations are still being discovered after all these years. interested if you can share what country the game was found? Did the owner know any history of where it was purchased? Probably not, but very cool.
