NICE. I'm going to have to wait at least a week to want to do this again. This takes a lot of mettle to want to sit down with this game that long. Did you notice any gameplay differences at that level? By the way, chuck, can't remember, but did you notice I was hoping to at some point to a Sega8Bit US event? I just noticed you were from PA. This contest here is going to come down to whoever has the guts to 9,999,999 this game to the ground.

Well I managed to get to course 4, and 337,010 points. Doesn't compare with you guys, but I've never got that far in the game before, so its a good result for me!

It's all about working the curves as you progress. The first lap is the most critical because you start from a dead stop and always seem to make it later on with only 1 or 2 seconds left. Still, don't forget, you go for a little while when your speed is maxed, so even if the time runs out you can still make the finish and keep going. The corner work is where you need to excel. Yeah, XOR, we were tight! I looked after I shut it off and hated myself. The swerving isn't too big of a deal. It agitated me a bit at first, but then I realize they simply shift position towards or away from you in a pattern. For example, when you're on a straightaway in the later levels, just stay do an edge and stomp the gas, you'll pass by them all like nothing even though they're moving around. They never go to the extreme edges. Had some tight passes, but it's easy.

What I do is stay in the same lane as the first bike in the corner. They always switch lanes as you approach, but only once. The exception to this is if you follow one group into multiple turns. This applies to the third circuit of the game and onwards. After 3 mil, the score on title screen doesn't even work. I'm using the "built-in" version and an Atari 7800 stick. I thought my eyes were going to fall out of my head around 3 mil. I'm going to try on one of my days off when I can be fully rested and fed first. Good job guys!

When I "died" and waited for the pic screen to get the score it went glitchy! A couple sec after this pic, the bike turned into a red rectangle. 3,639,580 Attachments:

Gave it a quick go the other day: I don't think I have the patience to hit 1,000,000 let alone 3,000,000+.

Hahaha, yeah, to ride with the big boys here you need to up your skill a bit. It does take quite a bit of patience, but also some skill. Later on you can get some pretty tricky passes. I wonder if this game glitches to death if you start to breach 5 million? I think I'm going to figure it out this weekend.

The first 4 go-arounds are easy, it's the 5th and onwards. They space the bike packs out a bit tougher and if you crash on the first leg, it's just about over. Played last night and got 3.5 before I went to bed. I'm wondering if I put the console in the fridge with extension cables if that will stop the overheating/glitching...

I think my eyes may fall out of my skull if I went 5+ rounds. My only chance at a high score would maybe be as "highest score using a sports pad" but I don't think I could handle that either.
I never realized how different the master system version is from the arcade version until now. For starters the arcade version is MUCH harder... crash once and you have almost no chance to finish. There are also no gears and the game has an ending.
I want to see one of you guys max out the sms version... it might open a portal to hell or Ohio or something like that.

I'm looking forward to giving this one a shot...however i crushed my left thumb in a car door yesterday so i'm out of action for a while... It's not looking pretty right now!
btw, I think the scores need updating on the main thread when you guys get a chance. My Hero isn't included yet and also I'm currently top spot on Astro Warrior! Though not for long I'm sure!
