Hey, I found the tracks I was looking for. I'm curious if it's possible to take vgz files and make them files I can either turn into MP3 or somehow load into WMP in order to burn them to CD. Is this possible?

Hey, I found the tracks I was looking for. I'm curious if it's possible to take vgz files and make them files I can either turn into MP3 or somehow load into WMP in order to burn them to CD. Is this possible? I'm pretty sure I read about this on SMS Power! quite some time ago. Here's how I think it's done. If in doubt, search SMS Power!'s music forum. 1) Install WinAMP. 2) Load the VGM plug-in. 3) Tell WinAMP to dump its output to file instead of the sound system. 4) Play songs (one at a time, I think) - they will look like they are playing much faster than normal and you will not hear anything. This will create wave (".wav") files somewhere (probably specified in WinAMP). Now you have a choice (it's like a "choose your own adventure" book!): a) Using some other software (unless WinAMP can do it...), convert the wave files to MP3. b) Burn the wave files directly to CD.

Or the easier version:
1) Install WinAMP. 2) Load the VGM plug-in. 3) Tell WinAMP to burn the files to a CD
Or the more audiophile version:
1) Install WinAMP. 2) Load the VGM plug-in. 3) Calculate replay gain on the files 4) Enable "transcoding replay gain hack" in the options 5) Tell WinAMP to burn the files to a CD

Hmm, not working. If anyone sees this, let me know why. I set up the files to burn, start to burn and then I get an error screen and it won't continue. It asks me to send it to WinAMP and such.

Nothing anyone posted will make VGM files play in WMP. You need to either convert them to a format WMP understands, or burn them from Winamp.

I tried to burn them from WinAMP directly. I made the list, organized the songs and so forth and when I hit burn it started and then an error message continued to appear each time I tried. I read online a few times that the newer version does not support all CD burners, so I thought that might be the problem and tried an earlier version, but that didn't work either. I didn't use WMP to do it, went straight from WinAMP.
