This is a little program for making simple adventure games for the Sega Master System. It has a simple built-in script language for text, menus and game logic, and supports the displaying of static images along with the text. For a quick start, simply unzip the file, go to the "example" folder, and double-click the batch file named "Compile". It will compile the example demonstration. Documentation, sound and image compression support should come on the next version, along with support for multiple scripts. www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=54491#54491

I'm not seeing any example folder when I unpack the file. There are a bunch of ASM and INC files, but no 'example' folder and none of the ASM files and what not will compile.

It seems you made a mistake when extracting the ZIP. Most decompressing tools have some option to extract the file with or without the subfolders. When you extract without the subfolders, every file of every folder of the ZIP will be extracted in a single subdirectory, leading to the mess you've seem. Be sure to mark the option to extract the full path in order to decompress things correctly.
If you extract the files correctly, the extracted folders should look like that:
bin\SImResBuilder.exe bin\wla\wla-z80.exe bin\wla\wla.txt bin\wla\wlalink.exe example\Compile.bat example\DarthVader (palette).inc example\DarthVader (tile numbers).inc example\DarthVader (tiles).inc example\game.asm example\Images.txt example\script.txt example\sonic (palette).inc example\sonic (tile numbers).inc example\sonic (tiles).inc lib\BBC Micro font.inc lib\joypad.asm lib\math.asm lib\resource.asm lib\sam_instructions.asm lib\SAM_Interpreter.asm lib\sam_jumptable.asm lib\sprite.asm lib\Useful functions.inc
How are you extracting the files?

I'm just using regular Winzip. I'll try it again today to make sure I did it correctly, but usually I just unzip files and that's it. Perhaps my version is too old or something. I'll check it out later today.

Winzip? Okay, all you have to do is to make sure that the "User folder names" checkbox is marked, in the "Extract" dialog.

Didn't do anything, that option was already selected. I first used WinRAR to unpack and then unzipped using Winzip, no folder there.

Hmmm, do you think it's because I have a slightly older version? I don't see why that would be a problem. I'm not sure why this isn't appearing for me. I'll check it out when I get home later today.

I don't know; I didn't use WinZip. I doubt the problem is that it's out of date, though. It's very odd that both WinZip and WinRAR give you the same problem...

Agreed. It seems pretty bizarre...
