Very unusual, maybe there when they redesigned the packaging there was a brief period where it was still just v1.3 before they started to include built in games. That's still strange as those generally bundled either a cartridge or a card. Where did this show up?
UK with Alex Kidd, that makes more sense as I've seen a boxed US console with Hang On built in which used the older style box with a sticker over the Hang-On / Astro Warrior cartridge picture with "Hang On Game Now Built Into Power Base. Separate Game Cartridge Not Included" on it. I guess this box is from the transition to Alex Kidd built in. I don't think those ever made it to the US before they released the SMSII there. Alternatively it could be a generic box used for refurbished/repaired units. It's very rare either way.
That's the exact same Master System I had as a kid (parents got it from UK Toys R Us). It had no stickers on the box to say what the inbuilt game was. it was Hang On. I remember the box clearly as it was sat on a shelf above a cupboard for 4 years I used to stare at it for hours wishing I was sat up playing it!
Another plain one, with five language back and a sticker where the bundled game used to go. Taking into account what lorf said, I think the one with Alex Kidd built in may not be the original console. This was probably from the transition to having Hang On built in.
An early one I haven't seen before, original style front, but with five language back and pictures of games including OutRun. This looks like it came between the original release and the plain release pictured above.
PAL-N Spanish Master System III Compact from Uruguay. I don't know if this was also sold in Argentina, I've only seen Spanish TecToy Master System II from there. There's probably a Spanish Master System Super Compact box for Uruguay too, as there always seem to be loose ones on mercadolibre.com.uy.
Those are sometimes referred to as Sega Sales Rep cases, though technically they were rental cases.
