I was wondering if any of you know any syntax in Assembly Language for the SMS to produce sound? I will be using the Texas Instruments SN76489, not the Yamaha chip. I'm just curious, because I'd like to know if it would be possible to make some sort of chiptunes software.

This is one subject in which I'm still relatively clueless, SMS-wise. But I can point you in the right direction. To make music for the SMS, use MOD2PSG - it's a PSG tracker and is very easy to use. It exports music into 'EPSGMOD' and 'VGM'. VGM is good for sharing tunes you made, since there is a WinAMP plug-in to play them. EPSGMOD is what you want for including your tunes into an SMS game. You basically include the EPSGMOD file into your code, as well as some supplied assembly code to link it all together. MOD2PSG gives you everything you need, pretty much. Thinking of writing a tune for this year's SMS Power! music competition? :)
