I don't think anyone ever made such a thing. Probably because the cards and games were read differently. The SMS 1 can only play card games. It would be cool to use the glasses and cards at the same time, though, but it wouldn't make any difference, really. Also, I've heard the glasses hurt your eyes after a while.

You could probably make a card adapter that plugs into the cartridge slot, but even then you couldnt use 3d glasses and a 3d game at the same time.

yeah there's no point to such a thing, since no card games are SegaScoped.

I could build an adapter that goes into the cart slot of an SMS2 to allow you to use cards and glasses. I would need someone to post the exact dimensions of the glasses interface though; thinking about it, dimensions of the SMS2 would help too, especially the distance from the cart slot on the mainboard to the top of the casing (I don't have one). There is very little to the actual card slot, just some minor custom logic. I have a few projects on at the moment and I'm in the process of refitting my lab but if anyone wants such a thing I can add it to the list.

That may be a problem, one of the reasons the SMS2 didnt have a card port was because it cut out some of the SMS1's hardware to save money, so it might not even be achievable, it would be much easier if the guy just got an SMS1, I like them more anyway, there a bit more reliable.

Oh and if you put the glasses in the cart port where would the 3d game go?

The card slot was removed because they just wernt going to use it anymore. There not really any "hardware" removed to prevent a card adapter from working, on a sms1 the card slot is basically an extension of the cartrdige slot from what ive seen. A sms2 card adapter would essentially be the same kind of thing as the Card Catcher for SG1000. But at the end of the day making a card adapter while clever, is ultimatley pointless when you can pick up a MK1 console very cheaply. Perhaps theres a more useful new modification you could put your skills to use in making.

Yeah it would be easier getting an SMS1 but where is the fun in that? If there is missing hardware, I'd imagine it would only be the custom logic I mentioned, which isnt hard to get a hold of. Oh and if you put the glasses in the cart port where would the 3d game go? In the pass-thru cart slot that would be on the adapter too. lol Overall, it wouldnt be hard to make an adapter. You are only talking about a couple of days to rattle something together.

Cheers for the info bock, that will come in handy I was thinking more along the lines of an adapter built on a pcb with card slot and cart slot (so the glasses can be used).
