Time for a new one so let's see what P-man dishes out. 20 Em 1 perhaps?

It was a tough decision peeps, but the game I've chosen is....ROAD RASH!!! I was a little dubious when I first bought the game many moons ago, the MS has had its fair share of bad Mega Drive conversions, but on this occasion I was gobsmacked. Probe has done a cracking job converting the original bike beat'em up to the little MS. What can I say about this game that hasn't been said. I'll go over it again...... Your aim is to finish 4th or better in each of the 5 races which are spread across varied terrain. At the end of the race your prize winnings are displayed and you have the choice to upgrade your bike. The ultimate machine is the Diablo 1000, but as you can guess the it doesn't come cheap! If you manage to complete all 5 courses, you go onto an harder level. Of course half the fun isn't the racing, but punching your opponents in the face and trying to knock them off their bike. This isn't easy as you've got windy roads, oncoming cars and the Police after you to contend with at the same time. If you get busted by the Police, not only do you get fined, but you have to start the course all over again. If you're on a later level where the courses are a good deal longer, this can be really annoying. I have to confess I haven't really played the Mega Drive version that much, so I'm not going to compare, but for an 8 bit system, the graphics, sound and feel of the game is superb. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm actually playing a Master System game! One thing which I don't like about the game is the brake control. You may have a button on the MD version, but on the MS you have to press the control pad down, if you're trying to manoeuvre around a corner at the same time it can be a bit tricky. But really I'm nit-picking. At the end of the day if you want a fun and challenging game (level 3 onwards is pretty tough in my opinion), you couldn't do any better than getting rashed......

Awesome man, this gives me a reason to actually try to play this game, it's been sitting unplayed since I got and tested it.

Ah I had so much fun with this, unexpected fun. The first time I bought it, my friend and I just spent the whole time trying to see what the game was capable of and falling about laughing when discovering something like the ability to get some air from a bump then bounce off a cow or a tree. We were easily pleased. Also had fun manipulating the cheat code system to get any stage and amount of money I wanted, don't think I can say that about any other game.
It's even nice how the other racers have personality and can be affected by your actions towards them or racers they like/dislike in races.
And I love the music too. And the graphics. And hitting a deer at 150mph then flying for miles.
Yep, great choice of game!

Awesome game. I must say I'm quite impressed with the abilities of the SMS to run this title. The Genesis version is fine, but it's quite evident the graphics suck. They've actually managed to keep the same look and I tell you what I could easily mistake this for the 16-Bit version at some points. Very smooth controls and it's a lot of fun. I like how you can build money by replaying courses and don't have to worry about the other bikers getting faster before you have time to buy a new ride. Punching people is quite awesome, as is smashing the cops into cars with your fist.

I've never actually managed to diminish the police's energy bar. Maybe if you wack them with a club, it would be good to see them fall of their bike though. It must be possible, maybe?!
Shame they didn't convert the second game aswell..........

Ok that puts me to shame. Maybe I'm scared if I slow down too much to hit him, I'll get busted! I'll give it another go tonight.....

I always thought this game was quite impressive on the SMS, and fun too! I just wish there was an actual ending. That, and the fact that you tend to zoom past the competition when you actually want to fight them....

Yeah if you've got a decent bike, takes a bit of skill to keep with the other bikes. I like to single one guy or gal out and beat the cr*p out of them........

If you punch at the right time you'll closeline the opponents off their bikes. I like to get to the last guy before being first and pound him before passing the finish line. Is there a chain in this game? The cover has one but it doesn't mention it in the manual.

Hogskin, or wait, Hoghide or whatever on the second level is also annoying, you get an inch away and he starts a' clubbin' right away. This really is a great conversion, I think I like it more than the 16-Bit version.
