Here we are again, and it's more evil coming our way? Lord of the underworld perhaps? Why no! In fact, a much more powerful beast, the ENTIRE underworld itself!!!!!!! HADES!!!!!!!! The nether region is coming from the depths to select our next game of play! Have at it!

Well... lets see...

Todays game combines the best of strategy puzzle games with dynamic action and destruction, folks I give you Rampart!

Gameplay for Rampart can be summed up into three phases-
1. Place cannons
2. Destroy enemys
3. Repair your castle
Then repeat.

The single player mode of the game is fun, but the real meat of Rampart is in its two-player mode. This would have to be one of best multi-player games released for the SMS. Nothing is more fun than decimating your opponents walls only to watch him or her frantically trying to repair the damage and then BAM they are given a block that totally stuffs them up, ruining their whole rebuilding phase and maybe even putting them out of the game.

Or to capture both castles after the first round, getting a 3x as many cannons as your opponent and then proceeding to send them to the heavens.

When you try this game, make sure to play it with two players as it is insane.

I am crap at this game. I have never been good at strategy games (ala PC Warcraft) and I must admit I dont have a lot of patience... BUT... I actually dont mind this game!

There is something satisfying about cannoning the ships and stuff.. I am a bit confused by the crazy Tetris castle building regime, and I was so impressed when I got to rebuild my castle for about the 3rd time...

I think I have an old rental copy floating around if anyone is interested in getting it too...

I too am crap at this game, but maybe I'll improve this week. It just seems to turn in to a button masher in the battles.

this game is excellent and highly addictive, i used to have amazing battles against my brother. And the solo mode is also pretty fine. This game proves once more that to be fun a game doesn´t need to have pretty graphics and awesome sound!!

Heh, I remember there was a big argument about this one on here ages ago. Personally, I love it, though it only really comes into it's own in 2-player mode. I remember the 1-player game being pretty easy, although it's a while since I've tried. Will re-investigate and report back...

I like the game (LOVED the Atari Lynx version), but the SMS port is kinda weak in comparison to others.

I've never really given this game a chance, strategy seems to go out the window and you end up pressing up loads of buttons instead in the battles.

Also I never really could be bothered with Populous, maybe if I played the PC version, but the sms version didn't excite me very much.

I seem to remember playing this somewhere else, possibly on the Lynx.

It's pretty fun on the SMS! Too bad all my friends play XBox and/or PS2. Even DC is considered retro to them.
