I deliberately haven't chosen anything particularly rare or obscure or surprising now, although I do believe it to be still generally underrated, overlooked, sidetracked - now that's no good, you've got to hit it sweet straight bang-on central, and let it take you all the way through, then you'll get it. It seems only a handful of tender-hearted dreamers recognise the sheer magic reflected in this thing.
I haven't even played it in ages - do you leave the tastiest bits of your tea til last? You see, I've a tendency to try and save my absolute favourite videogames, films, records, for a time and a mood that feels right. This is my absolute favourite videogame.
My little cousin doesn't really like Disney junk much, even though he's too young to yet acknowledge them as a Ruthless Corporate Empire®. I have fed him whenever I can on Ulysses 31, the early Monkey Islands, and the cream of Kraftwerk - so naturally he has impeccable taste in these important matters. He sat mesmerised playing this. Utterly absorbed in the flow of the story, and the look, sound and feel of the game - it was a joy to behold. His pupils were like saucerers - and I hadn't even spiked his Ribena that time.
I just want yers to play this, and find some real enjoyment in it. I'm not providing a review, because I don't really enjoy taking an analytical approach to these things - please, if you must review it, just keep it vague and reasonably warm, don't just flatly dissect it as many of these reviews seem to do.
Ideally, if you're enjoying it immensely, just say so and leave it at that. If you're not enjoying it so much, just go and do something else, and leave it at that. No need for any sneers - if you must scoff, kindly do it into a handkerchief. No need either for any of this 'more mature' nonsense - these are videogames from our youth, express yourselves however you like. I'd be glad to read an imaginative master system-themed story or comic strip or whatever. This is how good things tend to start - small.
The seventh of the season is...

Fantastic choice, easily one of the best games ever made for the SMS. I love the storyline to this game, absolute quality.
Great choice for GOTW.

Land of Illusion is great. I haven't finished this one yet so might give it a try a bit later on this week. Do you guys think this is a bit harder than castle of illusion? i thought so.

It's way harder than castle of illusion but that might be something to do with not having the benefit of my mate's brother telling me where all the secret blocks and passageways were.

Fantastic choice, Kudos to you men, Land of Illusion is a fantastic plantform game with exquisite graphics, superlative sound, excellent gameplay and 13 long levels. The game is harder than Castle and catching all the stars will take you some time!!
... i finished this game more than 10 times, it´s my 3rd favorite SMS game, only behind P.Star and Sonic 2. ALL THE SMS GAMES SHOULD BE LIKE THIS!!!

Great game, I beat it about three weeks ago when I jumped through the illusion triology. I'd say this is the best of the three. I'll look it over again tonight to remember most of it. Think I'll do so while popping Computer World into the CD player. Die Zeit ist Geld.

I can finish this game, but not Castle... go figure! Great game, cute and fuzzy. Even when I get stuck on the beanstalk level by not being fast enough, the way I throw the control pad has a war Disney feel to it!

Yeah, overall great, very nice. Basically like Castle with a bunch of new things added. I really like the different items you get that give you some incentive to go back to different levels to collect things. I remember on the haunted house level I tried for like 30 minutes in various ways to get the one heart up on the ledge. Later I realized that's what the rope is for. Lots of secrets, plenty of goodness. It's just a great game. I found it easier than Castle, and would have to say it's the second hardest of the three. Nothing can compare to that three boss in Castle.

Good game, one I hadn't even played until last year. Wasn't expecting much with this or Castle, but was pleasantly suprised. Though it's a bit easy, it's still fun to play through.

Excellent, but Castle of Illusion betters it IMO.

I'm afraid Land of Illusion rises above all.
