that's how you criticise.
I never noticed that you could die infinitely early on, I was trying to keep my all lives so that I kept my score.
It is a basic game, yes, but I think it has a certain charm.

It's infinite continues rather than lives early on - and everyone knows that continues are just for big girl's blouses anyway

It's infinite continues rather than lives early on - and everyone knows that continues are just for big girl's blouses anyway Anagrama you're right there ;)thats why i've just finished it without using a continue.I got all the way to level 6 the second time round, the game automatically carries on back to level 1 when completed with the only notable difference being the enemy fire comes at you much faster.I've enjoyed it much more today, when you learn how to use them 2 little sidekicks properly they can be devastating and the game becomes more fun. I got a hi score of 4488250.

Right Transbot (great name after such a great game), mmmm please don't swear at me, it's not big and it's not clever. Please don't let's start a slagging match, just because I like the ms, doesn't mean I have to like all the games. I was expressing my opinion, ok?
I'm sure not everyone likes this game.......

If you really like the master system, and you visit these boards regularly, and you wish to make sarky, obnoxious, half-arsed opinionated posts on members' topics, then become a member. That's not to say you're not a member already, in a sense. And 'Phil', you've never known anything as big and clever as my swearing at you. It's massive. It's got a PhD, as in Phil has Diarrhoea. The verbal sort. Please don't let's start a slagging match - let me just take the piss out of your choice of game, username and whatever else I choose to apply my sparkling, low-rent sarcasm to.

Oh no, another game that I don't have yet. I rented it out several times though quite a few years back to play it with a friend as the two player mode was always quite fun. I fired it up on an emulator last night to have a quick go but I'm afraid the years have not been kind. Although there is nothing wrong with the game aesthetically I just think it can be a bit dull and I was wanting to play Aerial Assuault not too far into the game. I would probably think better of it if I were playing it on my SMS rather than on a PC with a keyboard. I imagine the two player mode of it is still good fun though.

even the very best emulators, that've obviously had a lot of time, effort and love put into them, can bring a perfectly good game down, because of the keyboard control, the way the monitor changes the graphical qualities, and... well, just because it's a PC.
There's a ritualistic thing going on when you play your master system - slotting the cartridge/sliding the card in, feeling the control pad in your hands - and when you break that, something feels wrong.
I have a great deal of respect for developers of emulators, not least because they're clearly very complex and sophisticated things. But I have found it difficult to enjoy playing them - for me, the absolute cream (like MEKA) can never quite catch the feeling of the original form; and a bad emulator can just ruin a game for me.

I like this game, though I agree it should have had more. Still have yet to beat it, but overall I found it a nice shooter. In fact, I have yet to find a bad shooter on the SMS, unless it just happens to be a game I haven't really played that much yet. This one is perfectly fine with me, nice graphics, very fluid. The music and sound is basic, but fits. The difficulty was the main problem I had with it, even though I didn't beat it because I simply shut it off to do something else, it seemed way too easy. The infinite lives mentioned before was an issue, and it just seemed overall like you could kick serious ass without any problem. Still, one to own, and it took me awhile to find it. Seems not that easy to find.

Ive played this game for about 2 hours tonight, and i have to say i found it to be a fun but over all a very average experiance, its a fun game, but it didnt really offer anything different. its very similar to bomber raid. im not sure what came out first.
i didnt notice if it could be played 2 players or not, if so im sure it'd be much better. It all reminded me of the flying parts of action fighter lol.
All in all, i found it to be fun for half hour. i'd just like to add that transbots review was very good, and its great to read, it really shows how much he likes this game.

The music and sound is basic, but fits. It sounds much better in FM, which you can hear in Meka, or if you mod a Japanese SMS to play Western games, or if you could somehow mod your Western SMS with an FM chip.

Okay, wait, something I forgot to mention. The graphics can become a bit choppy when a lot of enemies are on screen. I don't know if this is because it's PAL, or if it's like that regardless.

But I have found it difficult to enjoy playing them - for me, the absolute cream (like MEKA) can never quite catch the feeling of the original form; and a bad emulator can just ruin a game for me. Just a note saying, you can make the emulation experience better : output your PC screen to a TV and plug a SMS pad on your PC: See www.smspower.org/smscartpad/cartadapter.htmSeveral emulators also include a way to simulate scanlines. As for the crappy RF/AV video output you're used too in most country, THIS IS NOT THE REAL THING. The real thing is RGB. Developpers works with dedicated RGB monitors. Graphics were hand drawn pixel by pixel so you can see individual pixels, not blurry AV crap. RGB is how we always played SMS in France. An emulator with cristal clear picture (not filtered) is closer to RGB than crappy RF/AV is. If you think that emulators are "too clean", make yourself a favor and switch your SMS to use RGB. I'm not saying this is like a real SMS, but it's close. Beside behind able to play games you don't own for real, emulators can be useful for other purposes (cheating, developpement, making proper pictures, etc).

I think it's just me - I always quite liked the blurry crap ;D I have my own taste in these kinds of things that others seem not to always agree with. I really don't like seeing 8-bit graphics so sharp, just as I don't like seeing really flashy, perfect modern graphics. I don't like a lot of computer graphics effects in films. It may not seem related, but in an inexplicable way, it is. I always used to play my videogames on a little cheap portable TV, not a home cinema or anything like that. So I guess my enduring thing is for stuff that is a bit crappy. Don't feel you have to defend MEKA, Bock, it's a marvellous achievement. I appreciate how bloody useful these programs can be - and I'll be sure to look into RGB. But to me, the way I play 'em, and always have, will forever be the real thing
