I'm under pressure to choose a good game now. So i'll opt for Smurfs travel the universe, this game was only released as a prototype so you may not get to play it. Heeeheeeee only kidding ;D before anybody believes me or thinks i've started off a wild rumour Sorry if my choice of game isn't everyones cup of tea but remember your turn will come and you'll get to choose the game of your liking. Anyway my first memories of this game are from the snes, which was an absoloutely brilliant game and was a good challenge aswell as excellent gameplay. The MS version has all those attributes and managed to keep the great fluid and at the time almost human animation which this game was most famous for when first released. If you haven't guessed yet my choice for GOTW is.... Prince of PersiaA great combination of platform/puzzle in which you'll need alot of patience, judgement and timing to progress. When first thrown in to the dungeons you have no sword but luckily enough the dumb guards have only hidden it somewhere easy to find in level1,once you've picked this up you can go to the exit which is guarded by an unskilled swordsman who shouldn't cause any problems. From then on it's plain sailing... ;)Luckily there's also potions lying around to help you on your quest, however avoid the Red potions as they're poison.Grab a Green potion and it will replenish some energy,if you're lucky you may find a Pink potion and this enables you to fall from a great height without plunging to your death. A few weeks ago i thought i'd give this game a whirl and did recognise it a bit,i think i used to own it on the GG,so i thought i'd play it until completion to give it a fair review.I can say it's a great game, one of my faves although i was a bit disappointed at there only being 12 levels,it's one of them games you don't want to end. Overall a great challenge, with great graphics and animation a lack of music doesn't effect this game too much, especially seeing as the gameplay is just so excellent. The challenge for this week is simply go and save the princess, hurry now, that egg timer thing has been turned upside down and when time runs out it's curtains for the both of you.

Damn, well I'm out on this one and there's nothing I can do about it since the game won't play right on my SMS. Sigh. Good game though, just can't judge as I haven't played this version.

Fantastic choice!! - One of my absolute favourite master system games (we're talking Top 2 or 3 of all that I've played) Now the Game of the Week is entering into the right kind of territory - this shouldn't exclude any SMS fans at all, because the game is available for little expense most of the time. But it is a precious gem of a game - gorgeous, addictive, atmospheric, cinematic, involving, subtle, exciting... I could go on. I adore[/i] this game on the Sega Master System, and I simply wouldn't even consider playing it on any other platform. Please everyone - play it at night, just by a little candlelight. If you're lucky enough to live somewhere quite quiet and serene, open the window and let the breeze and the moonlight in; the rustling of leaves on the trees in the background. Have yourself a little drink, or a [glow=green,2,222]smoke.[/glow][/i] Get yourself something nice to eat, and make playing it like watching a good film. just let yourself get into it...

Wow, a top-class choice! I was just discussing this game on another forum a couple of days back. I must confess that I've barely touched the SMS version, though I spent ages playing it on the Amiga when it was first released. I'll dig it out pronto...

The NES version pretty much sucks. Is everyone certain the SMS version doesn't play right on NTSC systems?

The NES version pretty much sucks. Is everyone certain the SMS version doesn't play right on NTSC systems? Possibly not on a NTSC SMS (never tried), but I was playing last night on a NTSC Genesis with a Master System Convertor and had no problems.

Hmmmm, someone lied then on this site when I asked earlier what games don't work well on NTSC systems. I'll find out for myself then.

Well, I've only got as far as the second level, but must have fallen down 100+ ledges already. How the memories come flooding back - a little joy and then SO. MUCH. FRUSTRATION!!! Or maybe I'm just crap? I'll keep plugging away though - this game WILL be my spiderpig before the end of the week!

I'm glad everyone rates this game as highly as i do,it is a real beauty. I found the key to jumping whilst running was to hold on to button 2, and to jump off the edge of a ledge hold on to button 2 and press left or right. If you feel the prince can't save the princess simply try running at a wall, and he'll start trying to hump that instead to relieve tension. If anyone can figure out how to get that green potion at the beginning of level 2 i'd love to know,i'm pretty sure it's just a decoy though. On my travels i found green potions on levels 2,3,4,7 & 11. If anyone discovers any more please let us know.
