I first played the built-in Alex Kidd in the SMS II. The first cart I played was Sonic the Hedgehog. I fell in love with it too! I had played Sonic on the Mega Drive and although it was colourful I wasn't really that into it. Once I played the SMS version it really captured my attention from the get go... I suppose I like the simplicity of the graphics and the speed aspect not being so 'important' to the gameplay.

The first SMS game I ever owned for myself was Enduro Racer, which I had bought several years ago before I even had a means to play it. I just saw it sitting there behind that display window of a second hand shop, and then my retro collecting instincts kicked in.
First game I ever played is a difficult question, though... I once had a SMS emulator called Massage, and I can narrow the selection down to Action Fighter, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Alex Kidd: High Tech World, Bomber Raid, Golvellius, and Sonic 1. Action Fighter and Golvellius were the games I played most until Dad got me into AKiMW.

First purchase was Sonic 2, but I had to club together with my sisters to get it. We all found it ultra-tough at the time (in fact, it may be the last game that either of my sisters actually played ). I think Cool Spot was the first game I put all of my own money towards.

Space Harrier and After Burner (aside from Hang On and Safari Hunt, and the built-in Snail Maze game which came with our master system in Canada / 1986).

I don't believe Space Harrier was available in '86, maybe early '87, and After Burner wasn't even out in arcades until '87 with a Master System release in '88...

Hmmm, I guess my memory isnt so hot... I think my neighbours had their Sega system in 86 and we got ours in 87... As I look through my games the first game from 1986 that I remember playing that my bro and I owned was Super Tennis (on card).

The first game I think I played was Astro warrior. But the first game that seriously pulled me into the Master system was Miracle warriors. I instantly fell in love with its unique play style and its one of the games that made me a console RPG genre fan for many years.

Technically, it'd be After Burner and Hang-On/Safari Hunt, which I found at a flea market for cheap before I even had my SMS. (As I stated in my intro post here years ago) However, when I eventually got my now beloved Master System, it included a few games: Rambo III, Fantasy Zone: The Maze, and (my favorite of the bunch) Shinobi.

Teddy Boy in April, 1987. However, I took it back after about a day and exchanged it for Ghost House.
